This was the most fabulous experience! I have to admit I was a little nervous about having chefs and servers in my house, taking over and being there through a big part of the party. But it could have not gone better. Jesse and his wife Mara, the owners, were extremely personable, as were the staff they had with them - Max, Mary and Chase. They just came in, and made everything so easy. One of the great advantages was that we did not have to do anything - they set and cleared the tables, found the serving dishes, and used the ovens and stoves easily. They cooked everything on site - we had the shrimp skewers, charcuterie board, and wagyu beef meatballs. Wow! The presentation was perfect and they were all EXCELLENT! The appetizers were was a meal in itself. Then we had the dinner - again, all made fresh, right there. We had walleye with lobster sauce (the BEST walleye in the area and i have had some great walleye), beef tenderloin (cooked so perfectly and so tender with mixed doneness for varying people), loaded mashed potatoes (omg!), Caeser salad (you should have seen them prepare that! wow again!).and rolls. Then they finished it off with the chocolate chip cookie cake with drizzling caramel and ice cream. We had a surprise birthday party with 19 people - the cake was so good we never ate the store ordered cake! There were lots of leftovers and they just found containers and space in my refrigerator and voila! more delicious meals. They cleaned up completely - the dishwasher was loaded, and all the serving dishes and utensils washed and back in the cupboards, the trash taken out and the leftovers in the containers in the refrigerator. They left once they lit the candles. All our guests RAVED about the quality of the food, how wonderfully the team fit in and how personable they all were, and just how amazing the entire experience was. I will not hesitate to use them again - they will be first on my list forever! If you have the choice between a drop catering and this, choose this. Having your own chefs and servers to take care of everything and the most DELICIOUS food, cannot be matched. And everything is taken care of (except serving drinks, which was not a big deal). It made the whole evening so relaxing for everyone. We do not have a large kitchen, but that did not even come into play - they just worked within what was there, had smiles on their faces and were so easy. The price for all this is really comparable to the drop offs, especially if you consider the value of the services, the quality of the food being prepared in front of you, and the ease of the event with them handling it. STOP LOOKING ANY FURTHER FOR A PERSONAL CHEF

This crew of Jesse Ruttger works like a well oiled machine. They showed up to cater a wedding reception for 20 ppl at a home on Mille Lacs Lake on time and prepared. All bright eyed and bushy tailed, the 3 of them had smiles on at all times. No time for fooling around, just cook and serve the plated meals! Professionalism. 5 Appearance. 5 Cleanliness. 5 Pace. 5 Wine Service. 5 1st visual of plate. 5 Menu presentation 5 Plate presentation. 5 Quality of food. 5 Taste of food. 5 Personality factor. 5

I particularly liked how the menu explicitly described each course. Using adjectives always worked for me too. If you can get the guests' mouth to start salivating by just painting a verbal picture of the food, you've done your job.

I ate so much I couldn't even finish my freshly made chocolate chip cookie baked in a skillet With a scoop of melty vanilla ice cream. All of the portions were ginormous. No one went hungry!

Up North Eats provided a professional and fun experience and very delicious meal for our family's event. We hired Up North Eats to help with my Wife's 50th birthday, and we were not disappointed. Jesse was very helpful in suggesting a menu and was able to work around various food allergies for our group of 12. The food itself was very well prepared, and attractively presented. Jesse and his assistant were both friendly, attentive, and a pleasure to work with. They did an excellent job setting up and left the kitchen spotless.
