
Such a fun place to go to. Always have a lot of fun watching the horses and they have great food and drinks. I really just wish getting the tickets was much easier. We tried calling to get General admission tickets in advance since we're not from Wyoming and it became quite a chore. First we called for two weeks and no answer. They we tried emailing and the email isn't active. Finally we got a ahold of someone who said they'd call us back and they didn't. We called the next week and what sounded like a young kid answered and told us they don't have reservations for General admission. I really wish they would have included that on their website. So we decided on the day of the race to arrive early to make sure we could get a ticket. We also found out they don't sell tickets early unless your whole party's there. Read moreWhat was supposed to be a fun family weekend turned tragic very quickly. 10 races were scheduled, we barely made it through 5. Three of the five races ended in severely injured horses and injured jockeys. It is well known what happens to horses when they have leg and back injuries. Those injuries are deemed fatal. We couldn’t handle it when race after race we saw horses sacrificed for our entertainment yesterday. My family has generations of horseman and horsewomen so we understand why their injuries are fatal but for three horses to succumb to that in 2 hours is wrong. Something needs to change!! Read moreTheir race meets are usually end of June until the first or second weekend of August each year. Good people, fun times, plus pari-mutuel betting. Also, in the last few years Wyoming Downs has added a guest RV park with full hookups. It's located to the right of general admission parking. The environment there is like everyone is family.... Cornhole show Downs, horse shoe tournaments, and much more. It's like a family reunion without knowing the family.....And right now @ the OTB, off Harrison Drive, the slots are loose and being generous to all. This year,2025, the programs are free.
