I went to the drive in this past Friday to watch the new Deadpool movie. We arrived early, as recommended on their website. Got food and waited for the movie to begin. When previews began there was no audio coming through the radio on the specified station. I checked the other stations and was only able to pick up the audio from screen 3, which is not the one I was at. I went to other cars around me to see if they were having the same issue, and several of them were. One of the employees, I'm not sure if she was a manager or the owner, was talking with another car of people about this issue. She was incredibly rude to them and blamed their more modern car for the issue, threw up her hands, and just kept repeating "I don't know what you want from me". No one was being rude to her or blaming her for the issue. We were simply trying to figure out how to fix it. She continued to be rude to me and every other patron who asked for assistance. We had a previous bad experience with her at the concession stand when she was not only rude to us, but to the employees. After a few half hearted attempts to offer "solutions", blaming my car for the problem, and stating several times to myself and others that she did not care that we were having difficulties, she finally brought a radio that could somewhat play the audio of the movie which had to remain outside the vehicle. At this point we had missed 15 minutes of the movie, which is significant for a Marvel movie. She once again threw up her hands and agreed to issue a refund. I completely understand being stressed and under pressure, but the way she spoke to all of us who were being nothing but polite was completely unacceptable. 5 hours spent traveling and waiting for the movie to come home without seeing the movie and disheartened that the only drive in "near" by has terrible customer service and technical issues with no solutions. I have gone to drive ins all my life and am incredibly disappointed by this experience. Will...
Read moreOMG! This was such a fun experience. I’ve never had an experience quite like this - and it was so cool! We are traveling up north from FL to Maine in our RV. It’s an RV stop that’s easy, accessible and a fun and different distraction from the same-old, same-old. The people here are truly amazing, some having been involved since they were little kids. This venue has been here a long time - decades. It’s family run. And has a welcoming family feel. Great staff, including some of the brightest highschool students I’ve ever met, who give their all to make sure you have whatever you need - and they seem so happy and personable and full of info and answers to a wide variety of questions. It feels so nice to be around happy people! The movies were fun and watching them under the stars with an occasional firefly illuminating the dark sky added a magical touch. 😊 I would come back here just for the niceness of the entire staff…..throw in some yummy movie food and the people who have this place in their hearts…..well……we will definitely come back again!!! Thanks to all! You truly are the best!!! 🙏. We loved it🎉 Update: PS: We learned that this Drive-In has been in the family for more than 2 decades. I see a lot of initiatives all over the country. And I’ve rarely seen an organization with such dedicated family care and dedication. And knowledge! Just think, there are many people these days who will never experience a Drive-In Theater in their whole life. And this is a good one. If you can take your kids…. Do it! Dedicated staff who work hard all around - plus they are all incredibly nice while they’re helping you! This is one of America’s real treats! We’ll be back on our next trip in that area!!!! Thanks, especially, for accommodating our configuration with the electric…..for introducing us to your incredible, bright, pro-active, personable, up-beat and happy staff. You’re all making a difference and you sure made a difference to John and me (Wendy)!...
Read moreReasonably priced food, decent selection that includes fried foods, funnel cakes, nachos, tiny buckets of refillable popcorn, 44 oz drinks. Drink refills are a little over a buck. The popcorn is dry and the butter tasteless so if I were to come back I might bring my own though I would still buy stuff from concessions to make up for it. Funnel cakes are delicious, the pretzels a little dry.
They sell bug spray with cutter, at 6 bucks a small can but the other option, if you forgot or ran out of yours, is to be chewed on by ants, (or whatever asshole thing is it that leaves red welts upon skin contact) and sucked on by mosquitos, though the bats are trying their best to get 'em all. $6.00 is worth it but don't forget yours.
The ground is grass with plenty of fowl feces. Not an issue for me but some might be grossed out by the poop. Bring something to lay on the ground under your chairs to help keep the asshole welt leaving things at bay.
Not sure about the other screen but this one has speakers located on top of the projection shack and I think up at the front but I couldn't hear those either. Will update with sound quality once show starts. Right now the sound is at a barely discernible level and we're next to them. With folks running their cars it is a little hard to hear. *update - even if it had not started raining (downpour) I would have been forced inside the vehicle. The speakers are not loud enough to hear over running vehicles, especially if one is a diesel, which we were parked near. We were directly in front of the speakers but they simply are not loud enough.
There are two play areas. Screen one has a playground for older kids while the second is located off of the concessions seating area. It is a dedicated...
