I adopted an animal here because I believe in taking one out of the shelter help keep them off the streets. I had missed the neutering appointment because of a conflicting date. they called on the phone threatening out to send a summons to take me to court which is absolutely ridiculous. this will not encourage people to adopt pets if they take such extreme action. just cuz you miss one date threatening to take somebody to court if you don't respond within 24 hours puts people's life and time at risk. when somebody could have an emergency and not be able to respond within that time frame. I would not adopt from here again and would not encourage other people to adopt from here because their approach and they're strict policy without any kind of leniency or understanding of people's situation. adults with jobs have other responsibilities and may not be able to make every appointment threatening to take them to court. they don't respond in less than 24 hours is unacceptable. they need to look at their policy and consider the fact if they want people to adopt animals they need to be a little bit more. lenient at least give them a few days to respond. And threatening to take somebody to court with a summons is also unacceptable. you should at least give the person time to respond before you threaten to take them to court. that's absolutely unacceptable if you want people to adopt animals. especially considering the animal shelter is completely overwhelmed with dogs and cats. would they rather put them to sleep than to give them for adoption and threaten the new owners with legal action if they miss one...
Read moreWhile they do take in animals vaccinate spay/neuter and rehome them. The conditions the animals are kept in is just sad. Yes shelters are over flowing and theyâre doing what they can with what they have. during my time of employment there, i watched them clean the dog kennels while the dogs were still in the kennels when there were empty outdoor runs. Also while i was there, they said they were a no kill shelter, and now theyâre âstrivingâ to be no kill, they euthanize regularly. I remember a young puppy maybe 6 months of age was brought in, and was sweet as can be but due to being in an over crowded kennel lashed out at another dog over food, and the puppy was put down. It makes me sick going there because i know they have some good people working there who truly care about the animals. But just the way theyâre treated. Some are probably better off running the streets to find a...
Read moreEdit: never even showed. Thank gosh this time the owner finally took it inside.
Useless. Might as well not exist. Have called twice now for a very aggressive dog that keeps getting out. Yesterday it took them over an hour to get to us to deal with this situation. When he did finally show, walked around while we were trying to get this dog to calm down and get him caught. The guy literally not once tried even catching him with his stick. Why were you even here? Should of caught him and put him in truck while we waited for owner to show or bring him to pound to come get him. Had to call them again today for same animal and itâs now been an hour and 45 mins with no sign of them. Thank god no one harmed by this animal or Iâd be concerned on how long it took them...
