I love gardening and decided to take my grand daughters, age 3 and 8, ti the nursery with me to give them an experience. What a great experience it was! From the moment we walked through the gate, a great garden experience awaited us. One of the gardeners offered us a little red Radio Flyer wagon, to which the three year old was happy to climb into. I was asked if there was anything particular we were looking for and I mentioned we want to plant some herbs. He showed us to the herb section and said if we needed anything to let him know. Once we picked out our herbs, the girls enjoyed the garden paths leading to benches amongst the trees, flowers and water features. We then went to check out the little store to which my grand daughters got to pick out a lollipop to enjoy while I continued to shop. They lived that!!! I continued to pull our little wagon, while the girls explored the flowers, trees, and colorful flower pots. The three year old needed to go potty and to my surprise there was a nice, clean porta-potty for women only. What could have been a stressful end to our garden shopping, was actually another part of the overall experience. Thank you Cherry Valley. We will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI bought $350 worth of plants after careful consideration, soil samples, lighting and sun position. I spent more than an hour in there first time talking to the manager, getting his advice about the types of shrubs to choose for the location, took my gardener in to talk to him and got the right planting soil and amendments etc. The plants he picked out looked okay, but soon looked peaked and sickly. I took pictures of them in to the manager who told me to have the gardener er give them another product I also bought from them. After about 3 months of sick plants, I took pictures of the shrubs again and gave them to the manager. He told me they donāt stand behind their recommendations or their plants. Since my gardener knew him well, he gave me back the money for all the sick plants, but it left a VERY uneasy feeling. I had recommended this nursery to several people, but after that experience, I will never return or recommend this nursery again. What good is a local expert if he is going to charge more than others for his expertise, but not stand behind his recommendations...
Ā Ā Ā Read more5 stars for Lindaās willingness to help me. She circled back to my mom and I, heard me patiently, andāshe understood exactly what I needed, well beyond my research and knowledge, WHILE making a plan to get me on my way. Was way worth the drive from out of town. What stood out was her learned patience and MEGA passion for gardening.
5 stars for a taller, lean gentleman told me his name but I canāt remember ā he heard me say I was gettin dizzy, needed water, brought me a cold bottle and checked back in - not too many times, not too few even tho he walked by 17 times in a short amount of time and couldāve overdone it. So grateful for that kind of customer attention and care! He made me feel at home and had a heart of service. Thankful.
5 stars for good savings comparable to my big city, chain garden stores/nurseries but those have .004 of the heart and on top of it ness Cherry Valley has!
Iād easily give 5 stars if:
šš» the checkout experience wasnāt so awkward
šš» if the selection of vegetables werenāt so picked over but that is on me for waiting so long...
