Absolutely breathtaking and beautiful! This is a stop you have to take.

It’s easy access. You drive up a narrow trail and there’s a parking lot. There’s only ~10? Parking spaces so be sure to watch if there’s a lot of traffic going in. If you have a larger truck I wouldn’t suggest driving up. I would suggest parking at the entrance, because the path is used for going up and down. It’s extremely narrow! It’s not too steep to walk though, so plan accordingly.

I would be careful in bringing small children here. If you do, I’d suggest holding them or keeping them in the parking lot area. Lots of cracks you can fall down, and no guard rails once you leave the parking area.

Will be back here again!...

Wowza this place was my favorite on my tour of duluth. Not for the faint of heart. 2 parking areas one at the bottom near hwy 61, and a much smaller lot at the top. Steep winding roads up; but nothing a 2 wheel drive couldn't handle. (2 wheel drive ford ranger did great.) Drive slow and expect somebody at every corner. When exploring keep your kids close. This is not a joke; there are no safety railings(except the parking lot;) you will die if you fall over the edge. Plenty of walkable areas; plenty of views just from parking lot. Please respect the park and each other. Many people got way too close to me; I know I look friendly but i'm just here to enjoy the view not be your...

Palisade Head is a large bluff on the shore of Lake Superior, with sweeping views across the Lake and up and down the shoreline. The 300 foot bluff is a part of the much larger Tettegouche State Park. In the summer, a narrow road is open and leads up to a small parking lot. There are views of the lake directly from the parking lot, and many small trails provide greater views. The cliff here is extreme so be careful to stay back from the edge.

Fall is the best time to see the brilliant colors of the blueberry bushes and other low growing trees and shrubs. Winter is also a great time to visit although hiking an unplowed road is the...
