I was nervous coming in to get my hair trimmed yesterday because I’ve had a lot of bad hair cuts. I just wanted the length taken off because my hair was getting too long and getting unmanageable. I booked a curly cut because I had heard good things about what it can do for curls and saw great reviews about Raven so I booked with her. During the cut I was really trusting and let her do her thing. I just said I wanted a some length taken off (it was very long) and some shaping like layers so that my hair has a nice shape to it. I think maybe where I went wrong was saying I didn’t want any of it too short to where I couldn’t clip my hair back. I think maybe she took that as I wanted my entire head JUST long enough to put back. I also was really tired I didn’t get a lot of sleep before this appointment so I maybe didn’t get specific enough and stress I didn’t want it too short. She did however let me show her how long I wanted it which was 2-3 inches from my collarbone. When she was all done it looked really short and choppy in the mirror but I thought maybe because it was styled differently than how I came in. I don’t know. Honestly I didn’t know how I felt about it and just wanted to leave. The damage had been done. I went home and got a better look since the mirror was dirty there I couldn’t see very well, and I honestly I have never had a worse hair cut. One side was also longer than the other so I went in with scissors myself and tried to fix it a bit at home. I cried all day yesterday and today whenever I look at it and think about how I spent $180 to have my hair look good when this was the result. My hair is shoulder length when I had super long hair before I just don’t know why so much was taken off. I never said I wanted short hair. I rewashed it today and styled it myself and it still truly just looks terrible. Learn from me and come in with a VERY specific idea of what you want with pictures or they might just go crazy with the scissors. Not denying Raven can definitely cut curly hair, her instagram had some amazing curly cuts displayed but i’m just not sure what happened with my situation. The extra star is because she was nice. Super super sad experience… especially the loss of $180 and my hair I won’t get back for a...
Read moreI’m really disappointed in the services that I recently received. I had asked to get my hair toned bc there was some parts of my hair that appeared “brassy” looking, not knowing it was going to make my hair darker and explained that I didn’t like my hair darker like this to Raven. If she truly believed I wanted darker hair, she should have explained to me right after she toned my hair that that is what toner does. But instead she tried to make me think it was the”lighting.” I hate confrontation but I hated it so much and every one noticed my hair color looked different so I messaged her the next day and expressed how I didn’t like it and that it was dark yet again (another opportunity to mention to me that is what toning would do to my blonde) said she would fix it by using a “Malibu” treatment and later told me she added “pigment” after she was finished with my hair (which I can’t understand why she did that, she again failed to communicate that pigment part with me. She should have really tried to fully understand what my dislike was before messing my hair up a second time) I was naively trying to trust the process yet again and my hair looked the same just curly. I was so upset I felt the need to message the owner and see if she could fix my hair and explained that there was a clear disconnect in communication between Raven and I and after a long email exchange of me expressing I wouldn’t mind to wait a few weeks to see if my previously bright blonde hair comes back, but if my hair didn’t go back, I wanted Jess to fix it with bleach to remedy Raven’s error, NOT products as she had offered. Instead, my concerns were ignored and Jess clearly took Raven’s side and would rather lose me as a customer instead of trying to really fix the problem. I’ve attached a picture so you can see the change. First pic left hand corner is before she toned it, middle is when she toned it and the third is after she used the Malibu with pigment. The middle and last pic looks exactly the same except my...
Read moreOverall the staff was fantastic when I went for an extensions consult and color. Extension install initially was not great (loose within two days, white string at least 5 inches long still hanging in my hair and beads falling out in two days) but they did make it right before I left for Jamaica and reinstalled them for me. I am 100% not bothered by a bad cut/color/learning opportunity. The reason for 2 stars is that while I kept my extensions out of the ocean and pool water (didn't swim underwater in either), kept my hair up loosely during the day with a ball cap on when the two things combined didn't create a headache, UV protectent on and so forth. Two things happened, my extensions came loose again which I had tightened to the best of the Sandals salon's capabilities but it turned into a frizzy dry nightmare before we even left for our trip where it just looked and felt like crap. I wear a silk hair wrap to bed, wash my hair 2x a week with extensions (sulfate free), leave in conditioner and so forth. I had to have them removed yesterday and the stylist was shocked at the condition in less than a month and honestly could not tell me what kind of hair it was. I've previously have had extensions and maintained the same wefts for close to a year and would last 6-7 weeks before needing a move up. This maybe was a batch of poor quality hair in general but for $1,850 spent this was kick in the pocket book and admittedly I ended up getting engaged on this trip and I hated my hair. You can tell in the photos we had professionally done that my hair was in a bad state and we will be getting photos redone in Ohio which is rather...
