REI Distribution Center — Local services in Bedford Township

Horrible management! They have been here for 15+ years and they still can’t figure out how to make a profit or do things sensible. It’s like watching a bunch of overpaid adolescents trying to run a multimillion company into the ground. They expect the low laying employees to do their work for them. All while being made to do senseless jobs because the supervisors would rather gossip with each other than help out and figure out a cost effective way to progress the company. Please tell us how to make us better. How sad it is to listen to lazy people who make 3 times what you make asking you to do their job for them, meanwhile your already doing 4 peoples jobs because they got “laid off” for the same pay. Not sure if this is the REI I bought from but had to share my bad experience with an online purchase. It's unfortunate because a company this size would operate in this way. Instead of issuing me a refund for an item i sent back, REI sent me a puzzle and a note back in the mail. After contacting them about what happened, they would not issue a refund and claimed this is what I mailed them back. I never purchased a puzzle in my life. Will not be shopping in their stores or on their website ever again due to the lack of customer service. Amber, Melenie and Chris D. should not be working in retail or any position were thought should be applied. No one I spoke with handled the issue in a professional manner. I had the opportunity to tour this facility through a local chapter of NAIOP. Very cool to see how they have designed a facility around the great out of doors. From walk paths from the parking lot to the entrance to the massive amount of solar panels they have on the roof, they have done an amazing job of being cognizant of their eco footprint while still providing an incredible place to work for their employees.
