Julia is an absolute doll, and her skills in the hair department are ON POINT. Ok I have to preface this though. I’m a curly. I’m the kind of “Monica from Friends meets Bermuda” curly that my mom lovingly refers to as an explosion at the noodle factory 🤣 I don’t straighten my hair really ever because it doesn’t hold. Heaven forbid there’s 2% humidity and I’m a ball of frizz. This prospect mixed with my June wedding in NJ scared me, and when my wedding planner found Julia I was freaking out. I live 100 miles away with no car. We can’t do a trial so we are forced into a video consult, I’m panicking because the day before the wedding the sky is crying bloody murder and the humidity is out of whack…right up to the ceremony. I had never put extensions in, I didn’t want 1000 pins poking my head, but the one thing I knew was that I wanted a goddess braid.

Insert Julia! I don’t know what this girl did to my hair, but not only was it a stunning braid, it didn’t move an inch not from the humidity nor the not one but 2 times my now husband and I jumped in the pool in my dress, and then for the next 3 days through 2 washes MY HAIR STAYED STRAIGHT! 😱😱😱 plus she’s super awesome and makes you incredibly comfortable through the process, and I didn’t have a single pin pinch me the whole day.

Where do I begin? I contacted Julie sometime last year after finding her on Thumbtack, and after realizing that she was quite a distance from me, I decided to go with someone more local. Julie was very courteous and informative the entire time. After my first trial with the more local artist, I felt underwhelmed with how I looked, stressed, and pressed for time. I decided to take the trip to see Julie to see if she could do something with my hopeless hair and awful complexion. First of all, Julie and Robin's studio is the cutest thing on the east coast. Second of all, not only did they make me look gorgeous and give me GREAT tips on hair and makeup, but I had such a great experience with them. They have this energetic, bubbly vibe about them that makes you feel like a star. They love what they do and they REALLY want to make you look AMAZING. As a COVID bride, it was so nice to have experienced a hair and makeup trial with them. No problems, very accommodating, and so much fun. The ladies are Amazing & Master of their Craft!!!! Julie & Robin were so much fun to work with!!! Julie brought the vision I had for myself & my bridal party come alive!! My hair at times doesn't hold curls in for long, but the way Julie styled my hair, my curls lasted all night! I loved how my hair came out! I must say she works wonders with all types of hair! My MOH hair is super curly & hard to tame…Not for Julie! My MOH hair came out awesome & totally different from what it started out with.
