We just moved to the area from Indy and this was, by far, the best experience I've ever had with a butcher. If you're going fir the first time, be aware that looks are deceiving and you are indeed in the right place. He has his butcher shop right by his house.
That said, the prices are extremely reasonable and better than store prices. You also get to talk to the person actually doing the work. He doesn't do anything but cash anymore but he does have an ATM to use. I was surprised at the vacuum wrapped meat rather than the paper wrap I'm used to from big city butchers. Needless to say, my expectations for my meat vendors shot up considerably.
10/10 from me and I'll be doing all my meat business here...
Read moreOrdered a 5.5lbs boneless prime rib and a 14lbs ham (for the people who won't eat rare meat) for Easter dinner and they were a huge hit. Everyone wanted to know where I got them. Prime rib is prime rib, so everyone complimented it but no one was surprised at how good it was and it was GREAT.
The ham though... "Best ham I have ever had was said more than once." I would like to think some of that credit goes to my glaze or cooking skills but, realistically, it was just a high quality, juicy ham at an excellent price.
