This place is a great place to work out at. The gym is located in an old World War II hangar, so they have a lot of space to put in every possible thing that you could ever want to work out with.
This monstrous gym has a indoor running/walking track, four racquetball/squash courts, two basketball courts, one volleyball court, one indoor futbol/field hockey court, a batting cage, a lap swim swimming pool, a CrossFit- esque/martial art area, two big studio fitness rooms for yoga/ cycling/ aerobics, a parent/child workout area, a rock climbing wall, and men/women locker rooms.
This place has multiple strength and cardio (step, ellipticals, rowers, bikes) machines, benches, squat racks, free weights, and a small snack bar.
The gym doesn't have a juice bar or any of that kind of thing unfortunately. It looks like there was a juice bar here at one time but it is long gone. There are no personal trainers but the gym is hiring certified personal trainers and group class instructors.
Most of the little water station filters located around the gym are red and the filters need to be changed. The downstairs men's locker rooms need to be attended more regularly by the staff. Use the upstairs men's locker room, it is a lot cleaner.
They have great incentive programs to take part in. Keep you motivated to do the best that you can. The gym has various classes ranging from jiu jitsu to yoga for a fee.
The fitness director and previous fitness directors really used every space of this hangar to give you a quality workout. If you are ever at Offutt AFB, or have base access and you need a good workout, the field house is...
Read moreThe Offutt Field House is hands down the best gym I've ever been to in my 22 years of military service. Itâs incredibly family-friendly, with an entire section dedicated to kids under 12 where they can play in a safe and fun environment, all while you work out nearby and keep an eye on them. This is the largest gym in the entire Department of Defense, and it shows in the range of facilities and options available.
In addition to a .44-mile indoor track, the gym offers a combatives area, CrossFit and strongman sections (complete with yoke, farmers carry, log implements, and 100 lb plates). There's also an indoor soccer field, two full basketball courts, four racquetball courts, two tennis/pickleball courts, volleyball, an incredible range of free weights, Hammer Strength machines, and cardio equipment galore! Thereâs even a pool for lap swimming. Plus, for adults 18 and up, thereâs 24-hour access.
Whether youâre into powerlifting, CrossFit, or just staying in shape, this gym has it all. Itâs truly a facility that supports every type of athlete....
Read moreWould be nice if gyms could be as awesome as this one (especially since it's "free").
Unless you need some sort of super specialized 20k dollar machine this gym will have a few-several sets of any equipment that every gym normally has at least 1 of.
Some people could do better to clean their equipment after use so feel free to give equipment a pre-wipedown unless you don't care. Anyone that judges you are probably the same people that barely wash their hands proper and/or barely wipe their equipment but don't go overboard. This ain't the gyms fault so they don't get docked a star.
If you gonna wear boots you can use them on the track or treadmills and think one other area buy you can still lift in boots if you forget your shoes.
Please be respectful and don't be a-hole super-setting on multiple equipment during peak hours(the 90 minutes before work, lunch, between 1430-1700).
I'm gonna miss this gym when I finally leave(10.5+...
