I gave them an extra 3rd star just coz I saw the owner couple is hardworking. Now comes the negative part - First glance of the store looks cheap place/ poor/dirty/unorganized/dull/poor lighting. They have a lot of cardboard box here & there . Staff is not much to refill the shelves or remove empty cardboard boxes. Rotten fruits& veggies should be removed promptly from the shelves. I thought it's going to be cheaper than H-Mart in Bellevue downtown but sadly NO. I could only buy one or 2 sale items, Vegetables were as comparable to any other grocery store but not cheaper. Coming all the way to Newport hills is not worth it. I came to buy only their advertised specials. I found-Ginger, garlic, cilantro, tomatoes, bananas, opo squash etc were not cheaper here . Example, If you buy fresh fruits & vegetables from neighborhood walmart , then you won't come here unless there's a very specific asian item you are looking for. Most products didn't have an expiry date printed on it . Shelf tags prices were absent for most products. There's a lot of improvements they could work on. Ending positive note- If you live in Newport hills you can imagine coming here bi-weekly, or if you live in factoria you can come here once in a month.

I have mixed reviews here. Overall I’d give 3.5*. The store does not have a pleasingly inviting appearance. Yet not terribly. Grocery isles are more spacious than many other Asian grocery stores. While cardboard boxes cluttering, customers still able to shop around. But the fresh veggies section is the least pleasant in this store. Items look messy, disorganized and badly sorted. Walkways are narrow and cluttered. Food quality on many items are subpar. I would say that the overall prices are a bit lower than other Asian stores in the area. Make sure you wear a good jacket if you shop here during a winter day. The temperature inside the store is pretty close to outdoors.

Employees seemed nice in the supermarket, but you shouldn't sell bad or expired foods which are dangerous for people's health 😞 As I f/u the Google search AI and got foods from their yesterday, and I cooked the expensive "Sweet and Organic potatoes" with their prices $2.79/lb, but unfortunately, the "Organic sweet poatoes " had all gone bad👎 from the skin to the inner sides. My question is: Didn't you eat bad foods? My suggestions: if you couldn't eat bad foods, why put there to sell to others? So please only put fresh foods/vegetables in your selling market, or you WON'T have business for sure. 请不要售卖过期的和已坏掉的食物🙄

S Mart is a Chinese grocery store located in the Newport Hills neighborhood of Bellevue. This happens to be the only grocery store in the area. Otherwise, you would need to drive out of the neighborhood to Factoria or Newcastle. I have found the pricing to be better than other Asian groceries, which is why I have driven out of my way to shop here.

In prioritizing lower prices, it is noticeable that the store's decor is utilitarian. It is not as aesthetically pleasing to shop here as other Asian grocery stores. It can also be a crapshoot on finding products here when you visit. Have had the problem of not being able to buy fresh rice noodles here, as some days they would have none available.

The product selection and quality can be inconsistent. For instance, I find the selection to be very bare for leafy vegetables depending on what day I stop by. It is better to shop for produce on a restock day. Also, it seems like you do save a little money here due to quality. Bought some apples which I think were discounted because they were imperfect with marks. I do think shopping at S Mart is worthwhile, but I would advise picking a day to shop here when you will know what you are looking for...

I don't usually write reviews on google/yelp but I have to say I really like getting my grocery shopping here. And I'm glad I found this place because it's so close to where I live. I used to go grocery shopping over to Viet Wah on sunset blvd but I stopped going there because the all the prices are pretty high.. and some of the produce is not so fresh looking. Produce at S mart is fresh and much cheaper than Viet Wah. The meat selection is little limited but I think it's just because they just opened their business and not many people know that this is Asian mart (I also didn't know till recently because there are no signs that shows Asian mart outside.) The people who own the business are very kind and helpful to find what I need :) I highly...
