Wapiti Woods — Local services in Benezette Township

What a wonderful experience.

The only complaint I have was in cabin 4 the floors were a stoney concrete, so the kids feet hurt and had to wear shoes. They do have some thin rugs down on the floors to help, but the kids still couldn't do it. The other cabins may be different. This isn't a deal breaker though.

These cabins are well maintained, and are perfect for a few couples or a small family. Includes firewood and a pot belly stove as well as radiant heat that has controls in almost every room. Gorgeous cabin inside and out.

The owner is a pleasant person to deal with, and is a very personable man. Firm handshake!

These cabins are on the elk scenic trail. Saw many elk all around the cabin areas. The Benzette Elk County Visitor Center is only a few miles up the road.

You do not park near the cabins, for good reason. It's a little tight there for many vehicles to be going back there.

For your bags you must park in the parking lot and use the provided wagons, which were great to use by the way, to bring all your bags, food, etc. to the cabin. It is a little walk, maybe 200 feet? I didn't pace it, but it's not horrible.

My husband and I absolutely LOVED our stay at Wapiti Woods. We stayed in a couple’s cabin (cabin 1) and it truly had all of the amenities we could want for an off-grid getaway. There is no cell phone service but the cabins have wifi that is more than adequate for whatever you may need it for. The cabin was very clean, had all of the supplies we needed to cook both inside or out, and anything needed to start and maintain a fire! There is thermostat control of the cabin temp, but we had GORGEOUS weather for November so we hardly needed any air or heat. You are within a few minutes drive from the visitor’s center, local shops and restaurants, and of course ELK VIEWING. Our only complaint was that we didn’t stay long enough! We will absolutely be making this an annual trip, to allow us the time to disconnect from the world, and reconnect with each other! Thank you...

secluded set of about 12 cabins along a very peaceful river , 15-20 mins from the Elk viewing areas at Benezette PA.

very clean. very well stocked.

cell phones don't get signal due to being in a valley but the WI fi does offer free connection.

Note: To keep the cars away from the cabins and the "cabin-in-the-woods" ambiance: the parking lot is a walk and a schlep away from the car parking. owners have provided big wagons so renters can drag bags from car to cabin.

Not for Seniors or people with mobility issues.

Very good for young couples to get away to an elegant cabin retreat.
