My name is Ronald N. Tan. I thank you for the privilege of your time in reading my review. Please refer to the attached images for the book I purchased from Ambis Enterprises LLC, dba Lakeside Books.
While our experiences will vary, I do not recommend Ambis Enterprises (Lakeside Books) anywhere else on other major book shopping platforms.
I have included my Biblio sales receipt as proof and verification of this review as honest, authentic, and accurate, with certain information redacted for obvious reasons.
I am a personal chef here in Northern California, and I am a serious book buyer and collector. I cover all my books in either archival mylar from Brodart or self-adhesive vinyl from Demco for paperbacks. Cookbooks for me are not only references and tools, but helped me enrich my life and improve my culinary skills in my home kitchen.
As others before me have indicated, Ambis Enterprises LLC, dba Lakeside Books, is present on every major book-buying platform. They go by either "Ambis" or "Lakeside Books" or both entities in their name. According to their main website, it reads: "Lakeside Books is owned by the Blaine family of Coloma, Michigan."
I ordered the "Food of Life" cookbook on March 15, 2025. I received my book via USPS Media Mail on March 31, 2025, and had no issues with transit time. However, their lack of communication is atrocious. Biblio support, on my behalf, reached out to Ambis Enterprises LLC, dba Lakeside Books, on April 3, 2025.
As of today, April 8, 2025, Ambis Enterprises LLC, dba Lakeside Books, has not responded to either Biblio or myself! Biblio took action and instructed me to return the book to their published address, where Biblio will refund me in full for both the book and the return shipping fee as reimbursement.
Please avoid Ambis Enterprises LLC, dba Lakeside Books, on Biblio, Abebooks, Amazon, or anywhere else. They have let me down as a potential returning customer.

Read moreI purchased an oracle deck through Amazon from this company unfortunately I cannot give this company also known as Anubis Enterprises zero Stars I contacted them through Amazon several times because my package was not delivered I am of the opinion that my package was never delivered in the first place but since I have gotten the runaround through Amazon for over a month it'll be a month on the 2nd I have contacted them several times to request the tracking number which they refuse to give I am of the impression that my package was never put in the mail in the first place Amazon refused to send the deck and Amazon is refusing to investigate this company so through my own investigation I found out about this company known as Anubis Enterprises I've called them but they refused to take phone calls and I'm seriously questioning whether or not they take emails but this company would not give me the information that I required so that I could further investigate UPS or USPS as to where my package was which gives me the impression that my package was never delivered in the first place if you come up on Amazon and this company pops up don't order from them they are dishonest and they refuse to deal with their issues this family that owns this company in my opinion isn't honest although Amazon gave me a refund not having the deck is the issue Amazon is just as bad as this company don't order from them I have learned that Amazon has been getting complaints and simply refunding people for years there's also bad reviews on this company through Yelp that go back as far as 2021 so Amazon has known even though they tell people that they are investigating they've clearly known this for years they just keep throwing money at people to shut them up so Amazon has clearly been enabling this...
Read moreOne book I ordered from Lakeside Books/Ambis Enterprises got cancelled without explanation. Another I ordered a book on December 8, 2022 through Biblio was supposed to be fulfilled by them. I received confirmation that the order would be shipped within 24-48 hours and the arrival date was estimated at Dec 13 - 19. I emailed the admin account on Dec 21st because I hadn't received the book and wanted a tracking #. On Dec 22, I checked the tracking number and it said that the number had been created on Dec 22nd, but the package had not been received by the USPS. I still hadn't received the book on Dec 29th, (10 days after the stated latest delivery date) and decided to cancel the order. I got my money back. Lakeside asked me to return the book to them when it finally arrived in January but wanted me to pay the return shipping fee! They might be a good place to buy a book sometimes, but I certainly didn't have a good experience with them. And I will definitely hesitate before ordering through them again. And why do they always show up first when I search for a book on Biblio or AbeBooks?? My guess is that they list books that they don't have in stock so they always come up first when you search for a hard to find book. Maybe they then try to find them after you order them? Some of their positive reviews on google seem to be from employees who are mentioned by name in other positive reviews. X/
