08/10/2025 Great hike up to Sheep Mountain. It is all up, but you are in the trees all the way. There are nature placards and mile marks along the trail. On your way up you will be able to see some views including the construction of the new dam/reservoir. I decided to also include Stone Mountain in on this hike which is a lot easier to go up. The views from up here are better than...

I hiked up to Sheep Mountain and the incline is very casual but still a challenge and considered moderate. Even the last mile was an even incline up.

There pretty much isn't any view at the top as it's all blocked by trees. You will get some good view spots on the way up though.

Parking holds around maybe 30 vehicles and there is a bathroom...

The tops view isn't so great, go check out the neighboring Stone Mountain for those. Pics are from summit of stone a half mile away. Hiked in the winter, traction/spikes needed, but the views are much nicer than in summer. Also, we only saw 1 other person on trail. Trail is easy to follow even snowed over, thanks to the Loveland...

There pretty much isn't any view at the top as it's all blocked by trees. You will get some good view spots on the way up though.
