I’m rating this place solely on my experience trying to sell books to this shop. I’ll start off by saying the lady there was very friendly. That said, if you have rare/valuable books, find another place to sell them. What I was offered for the books I brought in, and had cherry picked (I will say some of them weren’t in the best of condition so I understand this to an extent) and offered only a small fraction of what they are worth and being sold for on eBay and Abe Books. It seemed as if they get their business in selling volume and not quality. The children's chapter book The Sea Is Blue has winsome two-color illustrations from 1046. Scholastic nonfiction published The American Turtle (about top secret submarine in revolutionary war.) While the way point guide for deep ocean cruising is a bit above my skill level, I am eager to sink my teeth in literary fiction describing voyages of Sir Francis Drake. Read moreWhitlock's Book Barn is my favorite bookstore! They have two barns full of books that are all organized by genre, demographic age, etc. so that it is really easy to find things. One barn is absolutely full of books that are all $5 or less. The other barn has more rare books, as well as the register to make your purchases. The two-barn organization makes it very easy to shop within your price range. Even when I don't find something I want to buy, I love just browsing the book barns and being surrounded by books. Whitlock's is definitely worth checking out if you love books!
One thing to be aware of though is that the barns are not very accessible. One of them has a really slanted floor that can be...
