I like this place for sourcing carribean fruits and veggies. They also have a large selection of spices. That being said, if you choose to shop there,.here are three things you must know:. 1. You need to use what you buy within 48hrs because the food just does not keep like Wegmans produce. I returned some mushrooms that were two days old and had sprouted so much mold and hair it was unbelievable. I guess it was unbelievable because the customer service representative just about accused me of lying and consulted to other people before begrudgingly exchanging them 2. Maybe it's cultural but the employees do not seem to thrilled to be there or see you. This is not everyone, but enough for you to notice. 3. Make sure when you go there that you have already used the bathroom, because they do not have customer restrooms and they are not letting you use theirs. I got to use it once. It was during their remodel. After being told no by an employee, on my way outtout door, to walk passed a man who turned out to be the owner. He saw my face was not happy and asked if he could help me. I told him, I come here weekly, I've been here 40 minutes today, I have a full cart, and I'm leaving it because I have to use the bathroom. I'm not coming back to get these groceries. So he let me use their bathroom. Do you believe they remodeled the whole place and still no...

Not a bad place to pick up your produce for a reasonable price. My experience with Elias has been really hit and miss. Most of the produce is perfectly fine and there is even a handful of items that other places do not carry. With that being said you can also find items that are bruised, overly ripe, or unsatisfactory in some other manner. They had strawberries once BYGO at a discounted price which would have been a good deal until I had a closer look and saw that they were starting to grow fuzz. Please don't get me wrong, I buy LOTS of produce here and the majority is perfectly fine, I just happen to find more items here that are not fine than I would expect or like to and most certainly more than other places. They have a small and limited selection of other products such as coffee, canned goods, etc. that I feel are generally overpriced. The staff has always been courteous and helpful. The store itself is clean and orderly and there is plenty of parking. They are easy to find in a convenient location on Linden St. in Bethlehem. They are not my first pick for produce but not for any negative reasons. I would not have a problem recommending them and you should certainly stop in and see...

Pleasantly surprised !!! I loved the variety, especially the cookies, cakes, deli items, and produce. I was looking for a deli item while on the road. I saw small veggie and meat pies in the deli showcase (about the size of an empanada, priced below $1.50. I selected the veggie pie; asked the deli clerk if it was ready to eat or if it needed to warmed up. He smiled and said it's ok to eat. He wrapped the little pie and then disappeared. While I waited, I seen an Italian hoagie on display in plastic wrap. About 1 minute later he returned and handed me the little pie. I wasn't expecting it to be hot! When he disappeared, he went in the back and warmed up the pie !!! Just WOW !!

I purchased the pie and the hoagie and departed.

I was in shock that for a wrapped hoagie that the bread was still crunchy as was the lettuce and the tomatoes!! (Usually at grocery stores, wrapped hoagies are very wet on the inside having soggy bread and wilted lettuce). It was as if they were expecting me and made it fresh a few minutes before I arrived!

It's worth going out of my way to purchase at Azar going forward. Fresh items and friendly staff who like giving service to...

I used to love this market. But lately there fruits and vegetables are NOT FRESH. I was there this Saturday paid 7. 99 for a medium Guatemalan seedless watermelon. And I just cut into it and it’s rubbery. My dogs, love, watermelon and so does my family. My dogs would not even eat it.. Either they are too expensive and if they’re not too expensive, the fruit is rotted when you come home, you open up the fruit and it’s spoiled. Watermelon or peaches for example are not as advertised as sweet. Onions are good for that day. Not sure what it could be. But when I purchase strawberries or blueberries at giants, it doesn’t go bad as quickly as when I purchase at Azar‘s, or Elias and Allentown. However, I must say that their deli is excellent. Their hummus is phenomenal. And they have a nice variety of seasonings and legumes and dry beans and that’s it. I’m disappointed.

I have mixed feelings about this store. At one hand, it has a lot of strange and exotic products that usually people do not get to see in other grocery stores; on the other hand, the produce, usually is not fresh. Today, the parking lot has such a funky smell, almost like sewer or even a morgue. my car is still stinky 2 hours later. In the parking lot, there are bins of watermelon and pumpkins. I am wondering whether some are rotting at the bottom of the bins. It seems that they tried to wash it off by the fresh look of the foam and water. Anyway, the owner and staff are usually friendly. I visit once in a while to get something that are not available everywhere else. the quality is hit and miss. Some could be pleasant surprises; some could be stinky rotten inside. I still go because i want to support local businesses.

First of, I’ll say at first I felt that this store was so inclusive and I appreciate different cultures so I loved going here, until today. I have never felt more judgmental looks when walking into a store lol. Especially coming from other women. And usually I don’t care but the looks I got seemed almost disgusted. 🤭🤭 It’s 2025, women have short hair that’s probably colored, piercings, and tattoos!! The cashier’s attitude shift with the customers before me vs when it was my turn was so obvious 😂 Besides, they hiked up the prices to the pistachio cream which is nuts (no pun intended) $10-$20 for a small jar, and the fruits last 1/2 day.. Needless to say, I’ll be shopping elsewhere. 🙂🙂 Work on your customer service skills and stop being rude and greedy.
