Big Rapids Computer Repair and Sales — Local services in Big Rapids Township

So if you can't tell buy the other reviews that THIS place is where you want to go for your electronic technology repair and sales. At the time of my wanting a desktop pc the world was in peril, and the availability of getting items shipped or made for a cost effective price is almost non-existent! When all other businesses turned me away or tried to rip me off, Jacques of Big Rapids Computer Repair and Sales was my plug, when all others where unable or unwilling this man came through with friendly, informational, and and professional services. I will update the review as soon as I get my products, but until then the only negative that could be said is the shop was in a bit of disarray and didn't compliment his professionalism. Honestly I almost walked out, being that I was about to commit to spending a descent amount of money. The shop appearance and the young lad behind the counter was a bit off-putting. But I was really wanting a new pc, so I digressed. Boy did my perception change when Jacques was personable and a businessman, I have dealt with people who have 20 years of experience in sales and they don't have half the persuasive charm that this young man brings. Watch your pocket books cause this man can smell the money that's in there and I swear it's a personal goal of his to make sure you'll leave it at his store.. willingly of course! First off let me say the owner is nice enough but I took my computer here roughly three weeks ago for a sporadic overheating issue when it was under load. I figured while I’m having him work on it I’d ask to have the RAM upgraded to 32GB. I was initially told it would be roughly 3 days. He didn’t look at it for about a week. He said it wasn’t having any issues, but he’d replace the thermal paste for it. After three weeks waiting for this thing to be done I had to go get it. I was falling behind on my classes and work so it couldn’t wait any longer to have this thing back. Upon turning it on it immediately overheats just from booting. I called him and told him and once again he tells me it wasn’t having an issue which clearly isn’t the case. He said I could bring it back the next day and he’d look at it again. I just paid $120 for some RAM he didn’t install and thermal paste that wasn’t applied correctly. Three weeks. Picture of the thermal paste provided courtesy of the other repair guy.

We bought our daughter a new phone to replace the one that had a broken and unusable screen on it and could not get the service set up because of the broken screen on the old phone. The owner was SUPER helpful and polite. At the end of the day, we couldn't get her new phone set up, no fault of his, we had to go directly to service provider to make it work. He wasn't going to charge me anything because he didn't "fix" the problem... I still paid some money because he was extremely helpful and took almost an hour and a half out of his day to try fixing the problem.
