So I ordered furniture a month ago right after I delivered my baby. After 2 weeks, I haven’t heard anything. No confirmation, nothing. So I ended up calling the store. The lady stated “oh, you have a few pieces that need to be ordered and some transferred from our Montgomery warehouse.” I in turn asked how long it would take. She stated oh about a week. I said ok. A week and a few days went by and I hadn’t heard anything. So I called back. A man answered and stated that they were still waiting on the transfer from Montgomery and it would be another week. I in turn asked why it was taking so long to transfer from Montgomery when we are literally a little over an hour down the road. He couldn’t give me an answer and just stated again it would be another week. They then stated they could deliver the furniture I already had there which was my sectional, 2 of my 3 end tables, and my dining room table (without the chairs). I said I would prefer to wait to have everything delivered together. At this point I’m only 3 weeks postpartum from a c-section so I can’t drive. So I waited another week and a few days. Again, nothing!!! These people never called me, I was constantly calling them. I this time decided to call the Montgomery warehouse instead and ask about my order. The young lady stated that they sent the 2 dining room chairs that they had that went with my dining room set, but the other 2 had to be ordered. Now my thing is, why didn’t the Birmingham warehouse just order them to begin with instead of waiting weeks for a transfer just to not get it all. The lady in Montgomery said it looks like they put the order in for the other two chairs. After she put me on hold and spoke to the lady in Birmingham (I’m not mentioning any names because this is a business), the lady from Birmingham told her to have me give her a call so she could give me the updates. I called 6 times before I finally got an answer. She stated they had everything except 2 of my dining room chairs for my dining room table SET!! I in turn asked at this point can we just cancel the whole order and I can go elsewhere. She stated all sales are final especially special orders. Now there was nothing about my order that I deemed “special”. I literally ordered a sectional, the living room table set (it comes with 3 tables), and a dining room table set (which is a table and 4 chairs). She stated that they put the order in for the chairs but didn’t know how long it would take to get them and again offered to deliver the other furniture that was already there but I would have to come get my own chairs. Like ma’am yall wouldn’t even call me to give me updates. How will I know when my chairs get there. Again at this point I’m only 4 almost 5 weeks postpartum c-section. I CAN’T DRIVE!!!! I finally agreed to just have the furniture they had get delivered and will call about the other 2 chairs and figure that out. I then asked do they assemble the furniture. She stated no that’s a separate thing. I asked if I had to put the sectional together? She said I just had to put on the feet. I said ok. Now today was delivery day. The delivery men were overall nice and professional minus leaving my kitchen door open letting mosquitoes flood in as I was trying to tend to my screaming newborn. And then literally just watching me try to put the feet on the sectional and sit it down since they left one completely standing up. I know they didn’t assemble but the least they could of done was put the sofa right and helped find the holes for the feet. I had to cut into the fabric underneath to find them. And again, 5 weeks postpartum dealing with a newborn and it was just me here. I don’t think I will be buying from them again. Now I have to call every week about my...

My recent college son purchased a sectional and set of tables. We were very pleased with the customer service and Danielle. We took the tables and paid the $50 holding fee for the sectional as we needed to rent a uhaul so we could get it to Atlanta at his move in day, January 23, 2025. All was well upto this point. Danielle asked me to give them at least a 30 min heads up on our way so the sectional could be pulled. I called at 11:00 am yesterday to let her know my husband would be there at 12:15-30 pm. At that point we assumed all was good. Then she called back to let me know that the sectional was missing parts and they would have to order another one to come in Monday. That would not work as we rented a uhaul specifically for this(about $350.00). She advised us she could offer the floor model which I was OK with for a discount. Well the discount she gave me was $50 and a $50 refund of hold fee. In my opinion this was RIDICULOUS as THIS company messed up and gave us no option. But I accepted as we already paid for the uhaul and my husband and I took off work to help him move in. My husband arrived and they had already wrapped the entire sectional in plastic wrap and so there was NO WAY to inspect it(which you'll understand why I say this later). Once to the location, we unwrapped the FLOOR MODEL sectional that we now paid FULL price minus $50 for. It had tears on some corners and the legs were stripped(see photos and videos). The next day I called and continued to call and email the owner. Never did I get a response from him. The manager at the store was very rude and said they could not do anything unless I wanted to return it and they could order a new one. Remind you we now paid for a $350 uhaul to get this damaged floor model out of state. So we would have to rent another uhaul for $350 and at this point, it would be close to the cost of a new sectional! I was simply looking for a more reasonable discount. BUT NO! They became very rude and defensive. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and issued pictures and video. Back and forth with the owner and he was caught in a lie. He said they mailed new screws for the stripped legs. I caught him in a lie because they never asked for the address to mail these so there was no way he could give an address. He basically again said "there was some confusion and we will send the screws." Here is the problem, as you can see in the video, the screws are stripped(assume when they were rushing to take it off the floor and wrap for pickup) and new screws will not do anything! So needless to say, I will NEVER shop here again and I would strongly advise you to do your research before shopping and purchasing ANYTHING there! Dishonest company at best! Can not seem to pul pictures/video from iPhoto. Will try again...

••• I’m new to Birmingham, having moved here for work as a News Anchor.
Only 3 months after my purchase, the bed I bought from Birmingham Overstock cracked in half. Literally.
Unfortunately this happened two days after my car accident while I was lying in bed. Chasity was the manager I dealt with primarily. Although, somewhat professional, during one exchange, she came across a bit rude… disgruntled at my mention of leaving a review. Even saying to me at some point “You act like we opened the box and made the bed.”
(That’s bad business management, but I digress.)
I was told to take pictures of the cracked bed and someone would be sent out to replace it.
I did as asked.
I was also told by text, via Chasity, that the OWNER would be in to “see if they could [expedite the issue] and go from there.” A day later, a voicemail was left on my phone saying drivers would bring the new bed frame as well as an additional metal frame. I was NEVER told to keep the broken frame.
Not once. Not by text. Not by voicemail.
Chasity never communicated this to me nor did she explain it clearly to the delivery drivers. Upon their arrival, all three of us had different versions of how this problem was to be fixed. I was open to a bed replacement as long as it was assembled as well since I’d already paid for that service.
I work in communications for a living and this is truly unacceptable. I’m also clear, based on what I’ve seen, that this business has a habit of arguing with people via Yelp reviews/Google reviews instead of ensuring customer support. I have no plans or desire to go back and forth about this further. Instead I’ll take my complaints to the Better Business Bureau.
But reader, allow me to communicate this properly— I WOULD NEVER BUY FROM THIS...
