Because I am new at DSLR photography, I wanted to see if I could find a used camera to start out with before I invested in something new. The gentleman waiting on me was very nice and answered questions as much as he could as he pulled the cameras out for me to see. Then his supervisor came over and made him put all the cameras back. She told him that I could not look at them. I told her that the one I was looking at in particular was available brand new with accessories for about $75 more than they were charging, with a bundle of accessories included , and I was not able to make a decent decision without seeing their selection. She came back and said the camera bundle was available at Walmart for $500 but I have been researching this for several months and I know it's available on Amazon for about 350. Then I asked her if I could look at the others and she told me that the gentleman behind the counter could get fired for it. I'm not about to drop two or three hundred dollars on a used camera without the ability to examine it. I understand that the business is located in a high crime area, but I am a short middle-aged woman with no pockets and no purse, and there was no chance that I was going to steal anything from them and make it to the door. I guess this place is okay if you need to sell something for quick cash, but if you want to buy something and expect good customer service, your best bet would be to try someplace in Homewood or Vestavia where the customer service is a little bit more...
Read moreSo on 12/16/23, I purchased a Nintendo Switch from this location. It seemed to be taking a while to charge, so I purchased the 6 month protection plan they offered just to be safe. I left it on charge overnight, and all day while I was at work. When I got home from work, on 12/17/23, it still wasn’t charged, so I called the store to make sure they were open. The employee told me they were, but they apparently stop taking customers 15 mins before closing so that they can leave the building at 5:00. They’re gone at 5:01. But he told me I could bring it back on 12/18/23, because they’re open until 6. So I brought it back then, but apparently my deadline for a refund was at 5:00 Sunday on 12/17/23, (actually 4:45). And I was told by the store manager that since it had been more than 24 hours they would not give me a refund. I could get store credit, or they would buy it back at half the price they sold it to me for. That policy is ridiculous, especially since I called the store in time and was told when I would be able to bring it back, just to be told I could exchange it or sell it back at half price. They got their sale this time, but with policies like this, I hope this pawn shop goes under soon because that’s an absolutely ridiculous policy that they need to change quickly. If you have a choice, do not ever go here, you money would be better spent at LITERALLY any other pawn shop. Stay away...
Read moreI purchased a Amplifier for over $100 literally one day later I had it installed to find out it doesn’t work but the store had already closed so I waited until the next day to try to resolve the issue . I took it back and the supervisor was very rude and told me I couldn’t get another one or my money back after 24hrs and blamed the stereo system company as if they did something instead of handling business as a business women this is ridiculous they are a scam and people work hard for their money. I wouldn’t recommend this place I tried to be polite and work the situation out but that women isn’t business...
