Cannot say enough fantastic things about our experience at High Lonesome Vineyard! At the recommendation of a local who gave us a card for HLV as we were passing through the area, Tom and Edie graciously accommodated a no notice request for a same day stop by the vineyard. Edie was an amazing and gracious host throughout, sharing she and Tom’s story of the vineyard, their service to our nation in the military and the labor of love that it is obvious running a vineyard had to be. Edie has an awesome sense of humor and was great throughout our visit to the vineyard. Tom was a tremendous communicator with exceptionally quick response time and follow up. If you are in the area and fall into any of these categories — want to meet great people, want to grow a greater appreciation for the wine making experience, want to enjoy a beautiful location, want to experience a great glass of wine or want to support Veteran owned (dual at that!) you can’t go wrong with a stop by High Lonesome Vineyards. An unexpected find for us now guarantees a stop on our travels anytime we’re in southern Arizona. Highly recommend this...
Read moreWhat a gem! We happened to luck into the best Vineyard in the area. (...and we did drive by a few others... they just are not ready for public yet.) The wines are incredible and the hosts are top-notch! We stayed with Harvest host and parked out where we could see sunrise and sunset. Absolutely beautiful!
I can see this Vineyard being the Cornerstone of a wine tour through the valley someday. They have big plans and with the quality of wine I am sure they will accomplish them!
Tannant (their brand ambassador red) is very mature for such a new Vineyard. I would suggest stacking a few of these on the shelf... They will probably be more expensive someday.
(They suggested we try a local brew and burger stop around the corner... But we did not have time to eat at The Thirsty lizard, but really want to! Suppose we are going to have to come back and make it a point! Ihear they have some type of lizard appendage on the...
Read moreEdith and Tom are very informative about the wines they make. They know the varieties they grow, where they come from, when and how to harvest, and the best conditions for fermentation. They were very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The presentation feels very personal and homey which is a great touch. Very kind people and a great wine tasting area. They have award-winning wines and are even very environmentally conservative with how they raise the grapes. They were also so very friendly and were great to talk to! Overall,...
