I always love visiting this little country store. It’s right on the way to Lake Sabrina and there’s a hardware store next door as well.
This small little market has a lot to offer. You can buy fresh produce, a wide variety of alcohol including local breweries like Mammoth Brewing Co. (250+ beers to choose from and over 300 different types of wine)
You also have a section that sells popular fishing items and tackle as well as bait.
Per their website, they sell fishing licenses here. Never bought one here though so call and ask to check, the mountains can make the internet slow which makes the fish and game computers even slower / non functional. Always check.
Gas prices are reasonable but you’ll definitely find cheaper ones as you go into town.
The worst thing you will deal with is the parking getting a little crowded when it’s busy but you can park on the side street if need be. Either way, you won’t have to park too far...
Read moreWe had no idea what we were getting ourselves into, walking in here on a vague recommendation from one of the folks at OVGC. Manor Market is a perfectly normal small-town general store with pockets full of exciting surprises all throughout.
They carry everything from Frito-Lays to Organic Pastures raw dairy with seemingly no bias towards one or the other. They carry what the people want. And seeing as Bishop is a launching place and stop-off point for so many health-minded hikers, enough of them seem to want to eat organically. Produce proved to be the most disappointing with very few non-conventional options – though they did have some local organic greens + stonefruit when we were there. Prices weren't bad either, considering their relatively remote location.
Some highlights: a massive ginger ale selection including our favourite by Belvoir, Taza's chocolate discs, kombucha, and some locally-made raw vegan...

Anything you need for cookin' up the proper Sierra meal can he found here....local 4H meats can be had for an authentic Owens Valley BB-Q, and honey, and some of the produce are local, as well.
I live here, and I honestly don't remember ever having to stand in a long checkout line, nor having to hunt endlessly for someone to tell me the difference between a rutabaga and a turnip. The employees are always friendly, and usually seem to be enjoying what they are doing.
Great local folk doing honest business with their neighbors.
Oh, the parking takes patience, but definitely worth the trouble....
