My child had a lot of fun at the Black Earth Children's Museum! There was a lot of different themed areas for children to play in, including musical instruments, learning about space, slides, natural habitats, and climbing a rock wall. The place was relatively organized, and most kids were respectful and put their toys away when they were done playing in a certain area.

The staff was very kind and friendly, but they were not the most helpful for a first time visitor. I carried my coat and bag the entire time, and it turns out the museum has a coat rack (which is awesome, now I know for next time if we choose to come back). There were also a good amount of parents who were not watching their children. There were a few kids who were unkind to my child, and it took a few tries for me to redirect or a few minutes before the parents realized what their child was doing. Most kids were very kind and inclusive, but there were a few who took away every toy my 1 year old was trying to interact with (they would walk across the room to take...

We were there for the Grand Opening yesterday and were very impressed with the Children's Museum. Black Earth is a pretty small town, so the museum is smaller than most museums of its kind, but the space was very well used and beautifully laid out.

There are plenty of options for the youngest kids, and some exhibits that will keep the 6-10 year old kids busy for a couple hours. I am not sure above that, I could see some things appealing to the 11-12 year old group but nothing above, but it seems like they are working on options in the future. They have the room for it too.

Overall, really enjoyed the Black Earth Children's Museum, I think it really brings a youthful and modern feel to the small town of Black Earth. Hopefully this is just...

Their space is small but they've got quite a bit packed in here. Very cherry, colorful atmosphere, which is uplifting on a dreary winter day. Their very small kids play area was well laid out with accesible activities for the littlest ones...unfortunately there we're a bunch of older children playing rowdily when I was in this area, so my almost 1 year old did not get to play for long. One down side to this place is that they are a small organization so they don't have a lot of staff to fix things when they break or get damaged. There we're a handful of activities that we could not use because they were damaged. The flying...

Lots of brain stimulating activities for the smaller building size of other children's museums in this part of Wisconsin. I would say this is probably the best out of them all. Everything feels safe for children and it's not as stressful as some of the other places. There is even a soft play area for babies that we noticed when taking our eleven month old. The constellation room is really neat for children that have never had a chance to see a planetarium. If you are stopping through Black Earth, do yourself a favor and take the kiddos here, they will sleep the rest of the drive.

If you have gone to the Madison Children’s Museum, this place will be fun - but it is much smaller. My comparison between the two locations will end there. My boys loved it as a change of pace from what they were used to in Madison. Although the facility has two floors, one floor is dedicated to birthday parties, the main floor is the museum. There are some cool exhibits there that my boys loved: the grocery store (see included image), the ETC light exhibit, wooden train area and Lego area, the slide and the climbing area.

We were looking for someplace to bring our grandkids on a day off from school. The Black Earth Children's Museum was a wonderful surprise! We stumbled across it on the internet. The wide variety of areas of interest was nice. Our grandkids loved it. Their favorite parts were the vetinary clinic and the rock climbing wall. I liked the night sky experience. The cost was very reasonable.
