Blue Ridge Design Build — Local services in Blacksburg

We hired BRHI after they met us at the house we had just purchased to discuss our goals for the project. We hired them for a major renovation (turning two small bedrooms into a master bedroom and en suite bathroom) as well as to enclose our porch. From the start they were forthright with us about our ideas and their recommendations. I think what we found most reassuring (and different from other contractors we've worked with) is that they listened to us. They listened to our needs and wants and understood this project was about us. They made suggestions and recommendations, but never tried to force their ideas on us, and always respected our contribution (we nearly always went with their ideas and suggestions - they are the pros after all, but I always knew the decisions were up to us). The work they did was excellent and Logan always made sure that we were satisfied with the results. When there were delays (things out of their control) they were honest and up front about how that would impact the projects, and I was impressed with how they were able to be flexible and adjust the original timeline to ensure the projects were always moving forward. I would feel comfortable recommending them to a friend or loved one for a remodel project, and wouldn't hesitate to reach out to them if we need anything else done...

Blue Ridge Design Build finished our basement for us and we couldn't be any happier! They might be a bit on the pricier side, but they are absolutely worth every penny! They give you extensive, individualized attention during the design phase to understand exactly how you want your space to look. For the actual construction, they pull all the necessary permits and make sure everything is up to (usually exceeding) the necessary code; their quality is absolutely unmatched. They were working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week until they were done, and we had frequent meetings with them to go over what they had done and what they were still working on. We had a couple minor concerns throughout the project and as soon as we voiced them, they were resolved within a day or two! Our basement will truly be a special space for decades to come and it wouldn't have been possible without Blue Ridge Design Build. I wish I could give you more than 5 stars; we can't thank...

It's been almost a year since Blue Ridge Home Improvement finished renovated my kitchen and I'm just as happy today as the day they finished. They also did my breakfast area and powder room. Susan, our kitchen designer, was wonderful to work with. She listened to me when I had strong ideas, helped guide me in areas where I found the choices a little overwhelming, and came up with a design that I loved. Richard, our carpenter, transformed those ideas into reality. His workmanship is superior. He was at our house almost every day, kept the job site very clean, and our communication was excellent. Although surprises are inevitable when doing a major home renovation (our subfloor was in pretty rough shape), I was very pleased at how close Richard was able to keep to the schedule.
