W J Wainright & Son Meat Plant — Local services in Blackshear

Dropped my deer meat off. Told them i did not need any more hamburger meat! I want stew / stir fry, kabob meat and steaks. Since they do not make jerky I asked for some meat to be sliced thin so I could make my own, was then asked what about the trimmings? I said grid into hamburger no need to waste. I picked up the meat drove back Brunswick. Started unlaoding the bags. To find 51 lbs of hamburger, no steaks, 4 packages of stew meat, 5 packages of kabob meat and one package of tenderloin. No steaks or jerky, was all I got out of 75lbs of meat. A complete and total waste of my time and money not to mention deer meat. The sad thing they came highly recommend. Will never use them again. I hope you have better luck than me, it is a long drive from Brunswick to be disappointed.

As you can see there was a mix up with my order and i didn't receive my order of sliced meat to make jerky. There was still no steaks but Lori was great and has done everything in her power to make the situation right. So i have changed the rating from one star to four stars because this young lady has gone above and beyond. Wainright refunded the money even with me protesting because after all they did provide a service maybe not exactly what i wanted but they did provide a service. This must be what business were like before the big box stores came along. Wainrights still provides that small town, local butcher shop service that you won't get at the big conglomerates. Friendly service and high quality keeps us coming here. We can tell if our meat hasn't come from Wainrights, because the meat is ground too course, the steaks are tough, and they even look like they were mass produced. Wainrights takes pride in what they do, and it shows in the quality of the product. Now if they can just make me fresh Polish and Italian sausage like I used to get up north. I'll have to ask ! I absolutely LOVE this place ! You can tell its special before you enter the doors as you drive up to a building lovingly painted with beautiful exterior murals & welcoming rocking chairs to sit in across the front . Wainright's is family owned & its obvious they take pride in offering the best products, the best prices, & the best service. They're always friendly & helpful....even carry my packages to the car. They also cut my steaks special thickness for me. BTW they sell other products too: frozen vegetables, spices, sauces, etc. Lol I DIDN'T get paid to post this...
