I hadn't been to Blackwell in over 12 years to play golf. I remembered it as a bit run down, usually brown grass, with a few interesting holes and a railway track that ran along one of the holes. I took a friend of mine that has never been there before, and we had a blast. The course was beautiful, green everything, well manicured, and the layout was challenging. The greens were very fast compared to what we were used to. The railway track is over grown and out of use as I thought I had made up a railway track in my mind from years ago. We never figured out how to "stick a green" from 100 yards in, but we had fun asking each other after one of us would hit.. "did my shot stay on the green? and we would both laugh and reply in unison ..off course not ! The staff was very pleasant, and the "members" were very friendly. Negatives about the course: No food available except chips and candy bars, only one water fountain on the course and no signs or markers warning the distances to hazards. If your looking for a laid back, value driven, well maintained fun course...this is the place. We look forward to...
Read moreI have been in school for eight months and regularly golf this golf course. It is in a very bad condition. The greens are not taken care of. There is random mud hills on some of the fairways. There is constantly water standing on the fairways. I went in today and wanted to play nine holes 36 par. But instead, I had to play a par three on every single hole and the tea boxes were in the rough so it was almost impossible to hit a good shot. I politely went in to see if I can get a refund and they wouldn’t do nothing although I just played a part three course on a regular course. instead of using their money to update the fairways or greens, they bought 40 brand new carts instead when the carts are the least of their worries, I am so disappointed with this golf course for the high price of a mediocre course. The greens are regularly Filled with sand and punch holes, so it is almost impossible to put a golf ball. You basically get punished for finding a fairway off the Teebox by how bad the fairways are are you still going? I get so excited and amped up to play golf just for it to be a...
Read moreI’ve gone to the course at Blackwell for about 8 months now. I’ve always found it a cheap way to get some golf in, although it’s honestly expensive for a municipal. Today was the day I have decided not to go back. I payed for my regular nine holes, we found out on the second hole that it was all par 3s due to standing water. Which this would be fine, if I payed to play a par 3 course, but I spent my money for 9 holes on some short game practice. I asked if there’s any way I could get a discount or a refund and I was told that I could get a range bucket for free the next time I came in. No thanks. If anyone is looking for golf in the area I would suggest going...
