We shop at the farmers market up there and they were telling us how good the meat was at this establishment… They said they are known for their hot dogs… I said OK I’ll give them a whirl and see because I am really fussy about meat. I mean fussy and I only buy really good stuff and I do all my business with Bardines Out of new Alexandria… So we ordered a pack of hotdog and my husband wanted pork butt and he said I’ll take a steak he ask me what kind of steak do you want and I said I don’t want one!!! I ordered the pork butt Whenever I was cooking it, it smells a little off. I wasn’t real sure so my husband ate some of it and he said do you smell this and I said yeah I said let me get a good sniff That the meat was rancid… I figured it was a butcher shop. It would be good meat. I guess I was wrong. I thought that’s OK. We’ll give a hotdog a whirl…. Now I love hot dogs however, these hot dogs were the worst I’ve ever tasted in my entire life. I don’t know what they put in them, but they were awful!!! My husband has a steak in the freezer however he won’t be eating it…It’s going straight to the garbage can, I told him I said we never go any place else for meat…You wanted to try it now you see what you got!!! I knew something was way way off because the pork butt steaks that we get done at Bardines have Marbling in them that’s what makes them so good. These never did same way with the steak as I said, we will never return. Called about purchasing a quality prime rib for Christmas. Told me over the phone that they have a good selection and will cut to order. Got there and staff seemed confused and didn't know what a prime rib was. Tried to sell me ribeye before asking someone in the back what to do. The prime rib cut they finally brought me had no marbling. They told me that they don't sell prime quality meat -- only choice. However, inspecting the meat showed that it was select quality at best. Love getting my meats and cheeses here. They have good sides, too, and really good chili sauce for hot dogs. They carry Angelo Pacific rolls, big plus for me.
