The team at NJW completed a major project for us on our 1908 home, which was in need of a lot of work. Scope included a kitchen addition, complete reconfiguration of the second floor, renovation and restoration throughout – windows, roof, electrical upgrades, plumbing, HVAC, cabinetry, stone and stucco, flooring, doors, hardware, lighting, landscaping, drainage, etc. The project timeline was around 2 years from initial design to delivery, 11 months of which we were out of the house.

We are thrilled both with how the project went and how it turned out.

The diligence and detail of NJW’s planning and project management process stood out to us and was a significant factor in our selection. We particularly appreciate that NJW provided budget detail and cost certainty to us. Likewise, ongoing project management was outstanding – weekly meetings (and others as needed); a maintained schedule; clarity on what they needed from us, and when; and a very thorough scope management / change order process. We knew where we were against budget and schedule at all times, even as we made changes.

We couldn’t be happier with the team, whether employees or contractors. The quality of their work is exceptional, as was the care they showed our home. The team maintained high activity throughout the project, spent the time required to do the work right, and highlighted issues and options ahead of time. Icing on the cake was how the job site was cleaned up at the end of each day.

While we worked with some of NJW’s design staff (in particular, for cabinetry), we also had third party architects and designers. Joel and his team worked with the rest of our team extremely well, making sure they all stayed in communication and in synch.

We built our house 30 years ago and were very excited to finally choose a contractor and start the remodeling process. NJW redesigned our master bath and closet, remodeled our second bath, installed hardwood flooring and new baseboards, painted the ceiling and main living areas, updated the kitchen, and installed a beautiful new railing and staircase for our sunken living room. It was a big job. We are thrilled with the new look of our home. It's ready for 30 more years! Prior to construction, Joel worked with us to create a detailed plan, including selecting the products that would be installed. Working with the suggested vendors was an easy process. They offered quality products and were able to help with design ideas as well. During construction, workers were considerate of our space by keeping the interior livable and the exterior neat. They were friendly and polite and skilled at their jobs. Throughout the process, our questions and concerns were addressed. Honestly, we are pretty picky people. It was nice to be listened to when we had questions or concerns. We were impressed with our job supervisor Jason, who treated our home as if he was working on his own. We especially appreciated the detail and craftsmanship he brought to the construction of our new railing. We had almost every room in our house touched and lived in our home during the remodel. Our remodel consisted of: master bathroom complete remodel, closet added in the master bedroom, complete redesign of staircase, living room columns and family room mantle/ fireplace surround , laundry room, powder bathroom and basement wet bar.
