I joined this rec center for 1 month before I moved out of Bloomington. I got tired of my apartment complexes small workout room. This place was literally down the road 4 minutes. I WISH I had joined SOONER!! It was so sad that I had to leave such an amazing place and my pickleball ladies :( They have almost everything!! Workout Equipment Space with all the machines and free weights. They even have 2 sections of free weights on each end -Upstairs locker room with showers, too. Indoor track with 3 lanes that go along the top by the windows (5 laps is a mile) -5 basketball courts & you can borrow a basketball anytime from the front desk -Pickleball with an amazing group of people every day!! I went every M, W, F 12-2pm. -Volleyball Indoor soccer turf field (smaller than regulation) with sides to hit the ball of the edge. Fitness classes in the AM and PM that you sign up for Cardio specific area with TVs Free or reduced membership with specific insurances Concessions on Saturdays when they have bball games all day. Tons of parking Outdoor fields that I didn't get to experience yet due to the Temps.
**Wish they had a sauna, adult size soccer balls to borrow, outdoor pickleball courts, and indoor batting cage.
Overall, it was a GREAT investment in my $$. I paid $20 to begin a membership. Then it's $35 a month. You get a key card to scan when you come in. Lily at the front desk was my favorite.
Sorry I don't have more...
Read moreI would prefer to give this gym 4 1/2 stars, but if I'm leaning in one direction I'll stay with 4. I'll start with the positives: 1) The gym is never crowded. While that may be bad for business, it is great for people working out there. 2) They really do a great job catering to the needs of the older population. While I'm still fairly young, it is great to see all of the seniors walking on the track and doing their best to stay healthy in their later years. 3) The assortment of free weights, weight machines, and cardio machines is good. 4) The staff is nice. Some are very welcoming and others are okay. Overall, I can't complain. 5) I enjoy going on the weekends when they have their basketball tournaments. They're never in the way of the people working out and it is fun to watch the game... although parking can get rough.
A few negatives, but I'm not complaining too much. 1) As I said earlier, the assortment of free weights is good, but it is a little bit lacking. Between the smith machines, squat racks, and benches, there does not seem to be enough plates to go around. Also, if you want to do barbell shoulder presses, dead lifts, barbell curls, or barbell rows you have to improvise. You could do all of those things in the squat rack, but there is only one squat rack and it wouldn't be fair to other members to hog it for all of...
Read moreHard to rate this place in full as I do not work out here but I do play soccer here in the rec league! It seems like their programs for volleyball and basketball do well with many types of age groups. That's why I rate it a 3, I am unsure about how each program is and how well the exercise equipment works but I do love playing soccer here! They keep it pretty organized for being a rec league. The refs are usually pretty good and easy to get along with! They did get new turf and it is better looking than the turf before but it's very slippery. I see players fall a lot just because the turf is very soft and slick, not because they are getting bodied on the field! I appreciate them updating the turf to ensure that there are no big holes anywhere but for anyone coming to play soccer, just make sure you aren't going too hard and you won't slip! Overall, love it, and we sign up every year to play soccer! They also have great...
