For 20 years my family and I have made this trip just basically for the drive to see the trees changing colors and to purchase a pumpkin for the kiddos we normally spend right $200.00 on a pumpkin,fudge,apples and ciders well this trip which was taken on October 20th 2024 didn’t go so well I will not be going back my husband was accused of trying to steal a pumpkin quite rediculous we had picked out a pumpkin and as I went to pay literally standing in line to pay my husband was standing out side holding this huge pumpkin if you have been here you know the place is cramped inside so he waited a few and went on to the car he put the pumpkin in the trunk but left the trunk open the lady came out and basically accused of stealing a pumpkin she said she did t accuse him if it wasn’t accusing them it was harassing you just...

The owner was loudly and passionately outlining her beliefs to another customer about interracial relationships being wrong and even went so far as to say “the Bible says birds of a feather should flock together.” She also thinks the Bible should be taught in schools and teaching history is questionable. We used to stop everytime we’re in Blowing Rock and enjoyed honey, local butter and cheese, jams, toys, glass bottle sodas, peanuts, all sorts of things. We’ll be switching to store across the way. It was my first time ever stopping there and I felt so unwelcome. I walked in and grabbed the few things I wanted and walked up to the counter. The lady just stared at me as I put my things down. I asked how they were doing and I just got a “mmm” as a response. I thanked her for putting my bottles into a drink box to make carrying easier and got another “mmm”.
