Since you ask me for a review I am happy to oblige and let you know about the outrage I have over the terrible services you rendered and the outrageous gouging and lack of professionalism you did for us on our Prius that was towed in with electrical issues and will share it with anyone who will listen. GOUGING: You took advantage of us by charging us $389.99 for a 30 month warrantable battery, when Walmart is $149 for a 48 month warrantable battery and even Toyota is $249!! How DARE YOU! THEN, I receive a charge for $79 to go get 5 gallons of gas, and then charged us $6.00 a gallon, which means you charged me over $100 for 5 gallons of gas which comes to $20 a gallon! Highway robbery! UNPROFESSIONALISM: Julie called you on Thursday around 5:30 with mechanical problems and was told to bring the car in even though it was after hours. AAA towed it into your parking lot. Next day, no phone call from you by 11:00 am, so I called and was told they were checking on it. Never heard back all day, I called just after 5:00 pm, now youāre closed and now my car is unattainable through the weekend. NO NOTIFICATION that would happen! I left 2 messages (never answered), had to drive by your establishment to be sure our car was, indeed, there! (yes, thank GOD! Inside as it should have been!) THEN, when we got home, we realized Bird NEVER put the car back like it came in! Then trunk area flooring was not put back and the hood had a piece they removed and did not put back so that the hood couldnāt close completely! I had to make the corrections that the mechanic should have done!! And, now the power windows donāt operate properly! Again, MORE UNPROFESSIONALISM! I reminded you that I have been an independent new car automobile dealer/broker in CA for over 40 years, a USCG veteran and a senior citizen on Social Security so you gave me an advertised āmailer $75 off of $750 or more repairā. NOT EVEN ENOUGH! I have not seen this type of unprofessionalism and gouging in YEARS! This the last time I will ever deal with Bird Automotive! Remember the last time? You did and oil change on my car and on my way home, the engine/oil light came on because your mechanic forgot to put the oil cap back on! I had to return the car and you said you did another oil change. Iām SURE you just added the oil lost and did not do an oil change!! So, yes. I am happy to answer your survey and inform everyone I can of my terrible experience with Markus and Bird Automotive so they can be spared the grief we were...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreso my original experience with this shop was good but the second time wad not so good I had to have my truck towed to the shop because I changed my driver side exhaust manifold do to broken bolts and I didn't get my coolant line set back correctly and had no time to do it again and I still needed my passenger side done so I called bird automotive and they said they could do it well had it towed and then when I got there was told they can't use customer provided parts well since I already had the truck towed I was pretty much stuck so told them to do it and when he gave me a estimate a few hours later of over 4 thousand dollars I declined and asked to fix coolant line and they did was 954 dollars to do that and then they got it back together the same turbo only back side coolant line was leaking so they gave menestimate on fixing that of another 754 dollars had I declined amd had truck towed back to my house and bit took me 27 min to change out the line and fitting for the leak and they wanted 700 dollars to do that anyway my honest opinion is the place people are nice but way over priced and when they tell you the reason for not use one customer supplied parts is to protect them from being responsible for the parts breaking is bullctap cause they can simply put that in there contract that they don't warrenyy customer supplied parts but they do that cause the mark up on the parts they make a good amount of money inknow my father ran his own shop for 35 years so I leave it here just be better humans and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHave used McCorkendale's for years for quite a few family cars and within the past year even had a complete engine replacement and transmission replacement. I have noticed a disturbing change. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY !. Don't get me wrong, their service is good, and it will be done right....BUT.......be prepared to pay 30%-40% more and have more mysterious costs and procedures suggested and added in than many other places. They have gotten ridiculously expensive. If you allow them to supply parts.....the part costs up to 50% more than if you buy the part yourself . If YOU buy the part....mysteriously the bill goes up to where it wouldv'e been if THEY supplied the part. LABOR? $75 labor charges end up with questionable math being about $90 PLUS per hour. The counter man can't explain all the various labor charges. They are very nice people with a very nice and squeaky clean shop........but be prepared to open your wallet ..........WIDE. I have spent $10's of thousands of dollars there over the years.....but not any more. Go somewhere else and check other's prices before you have your car done there.
....and the described ABS diagnostics were described to me to need a total ABS system replacement at $800+. Meineke found the problem to be the rear speed sensor and fixed everything for $144. Definitely get a second opinion before you agree to...
