Several days ago, we welcomed a Grace Wood Farm Mini Sheepadoodle into our family which happened to have come from their Four Seasons location in California. Our entire experience with the Gracewood Farm team was wonderful. The staff were kind, professional and honest. After paying in full for a specific puppy at a young age, they were honest that she later developed a very minor underbite. They even allowed us to video chat with them in person and supported our decision to ultimately adopt a different puppy from the litter. They supported us and never rushed or pressured us in the process. Luke himself always communicated with us and was so kind & professional. We live in NY so we hired a transporter named Jeremy to fly our new fur baby home from California. Jeremy was a dream! He was BEYOND knowledgeable, experienced, responsible, kind and reasonably priced. His all inclusive pricing made everything a breeze. He asked me what airport I wanted puppy to fly into and when. He then gave me several flight options to choose from and I easily sent him $ via Zelle. He was even willing to fly into a small local airport which meant he and puppy had to transfer in Chicago, but he didn't mind. Then, when snow closed roads in northern California and puppy couldn't make it to the airport from the breeder's location, he was quick and responsible to inform me of other flight options and puppy arrived in NY less than 24 hour later once the roads re-opened. Jeremy sent me pictures and communicated with me by phone & texts throughout the entire transport journey. Gracewood is lucky to have him on their team and I absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a transporter. Our now 10 week old fur baby is the calmest, sweetest and most gentle puppy. Yesterday, our vet met her for the first time and said, "You won the lottery with this puppy's temperament. Most dogs her age are not this calm and well behaved." She is 100% healthy and a complete loveable mush!
Thank you to the entire Gracewood Farm team for bringing Mila, formerly Theia into our family. She's from Mama Charlotte's litter and we couldn't be happier! I highly recommend Gracewood Farm and Jeremy- the transporter. Thank you Luke and Kathryn for your time, honesty and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I live in France. We were determined to get a mini sheepadoodle for our next dog; however, there are no mini sheepadoodle breeders in either Europe or the UK. French regulations regarding the importation of a puppy do not make it an easy process. And so, we needed a US-based breeder who both could promise us a puppy of excellent background and good breeding, and could also help us navigate the logistical complexities. Grace Wood Farm was unbeatable on both dimensions.
Zoe was born and raised by Jason and Brooke Hammel at their Grace Wood Farm Wisteria breeding location in Georgia. We first met Zoe when she was four months of age and had just finished a 16-hour car ride from the south-east to meet us in Boston. It was love at first sight.
Among the many words that friends and family have used to describe Zoe after meeting her for the first time ā e.g. āadorableā, āso calm and relaxedā, ā impossibly cuteā ā the one that seems most to capture it is āchillā. From minute one, she has taken everything in her stride: 16-hour car rides; being handed into the arms of total strangers at 11:00 pm; spending two weeks living the high life as a hotel dog in Boston; overnight flight in the Air France cargo hold to Paris; hotel in Paris, thence by fast train to Provence. All in a 15-day span of time.
Nothing has fazed her. Two months later, she manages to be a loving combination of highly cuddly, yet still chill. Well, an exception may be when she is in full āzoomiesā mode!!
Both Jason and Luke were exceptionally helpful to us, with long phone calls as we were sorting out the details, and as we were waiting for the day that we could meet her and begin the journey home to France. Above and beyond the call, Jason also sent us regular photos and videos through our long wait. Mary was a very warm and responsive family liason manager throughout, and Solaya orchestrated a seamless transport to Boston.
We are deeply grateful to have our puppy, Zoe, and we are very appreciative of the exceptional blend of professionalism and personal caring that we experienced with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOur family are former customers of Gracewood but recently had a terrible experience!
In short, we had spoken up for and selected a specific puppy, and it was such a "done deal" that I had sent photos of the dog we bought from them 7 years ago. Unlike our prior experience when we spoke and dealt directly with the owner, Brittney, this time there wer multiple people involved and usually by text.
On the morning of July 1, had a text exchange with someone asking how to send the deposit for the specific puppy we had selected. I then also spoke with someone there, and we agreed I would send $1000.00 by cash app. I was on the road returning home so I was going to do it when not driving.
Just over an hour ts after that call I received a text indicating the puppy was no longer available. It was shocked that no mention had been made less than two hours before when I was chatting with someone there. It would have been super easy for me to send the deposit. I wonder if my purchase was deemed "less desirable" because I had asked for and been given permission to board the puppy for 3 weeks before pickup. I called these folks because I was a previous customer - when they were smaller and seemingly much more trustworthy.
There was a happy ending. After this experience, I went online and found that there were many other options for an F1 Sheepadoodle THAT WERE BOTH LEGITIMATE AND MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE. You can save yourself a lot money by shopping around.
I have "receipts" in the form of a text and email string which I am happy to share. and sending photos...
