This guy knowingly sold me a lemon. I was in a complicated situation as a military wife/mom, while my husband was deployed. Because of this, I called RC prior to making the drive from 2 state away to much information as possible. I chose to go there because Subarus are thought to be reliable, he had multiple available, and he had good reviews. I told him my situation. I was driving 8 hours to pick a car, pay, they come back the following day with my brother in law to pick it up. My sister lives in NC so they were going to help me through this process and take my old car to my mom who had just been in an accident. I got there, choose one, test drove, and paid. I came back the next day. We picked it up. All seemed well. My brother in law went one direction and I went mine with my daughter late in the afternoon. It started acting up (tugging) as soon as I was out of NC. I ended up having to stay in VA to get over $800In repairs. And by the way, the problem was so concealed that it took all mechanics at this bustling place to figure out what was wrong. They were so appalled at the situation. Thankfully, it was in a military community so they really wanted to do right by me and repair as much for what I could afford. In addition , that mechanic told me there were more significant repairs needed. He wasn’t sure I would make the 8 hr drive to my home state because there were other engine repairs needed to address a leak. I did but I had no choice but to ride it out after having to spend $800 which I truly couldn’t afford. I months later that engine leak gave out. Because of God’s grace the dealership misquoted me $900 for a job that was actually $3000!!!!!! And the manager honored it!!!!!! That is a testament to the Subaru dealership in Lexington KY. In the end, the gentleman at RC knew every step of the way my situation and the drive that I was going to do to get home with my 5 year…He was just happy he found someone that was not around the corner to get a lemon off...
Read moreWorst experience: -Drove 90 minutes from Winston-Salem(and Ricky knew this), because he had many Subarus that looked and were described as good deals on RC Motors website. However, 2 of the 4 cars I wanted to see were not on site. 1 was in the repair shop for front wheel wobble and the other 1 was loaned to his mother-in-law, but both would be back tomorrow. He asked if I could come back to see those 2 tomorrow. That wouldn't be easy for me from Winston-Salem. I had the cash in hand to purchase that Thursday morning, so I proceed to look at 2 others I liked online. Ricky Church seemed pleasant at first, then that changed. I didn't mind he spent most of his time on the phone, because he could still answer all my questions at the same time. He even gave me $10 to put gas in one of his cars that was below empty. -The first 2 cars I drove had major mechanical problems and the first 1 I drove had mold on the ceiling front to back. Since he had so many to chose from I asked to drive a 3rd vehicle. Ricky said okay, but that's it. You only get 3 to drive per day. I thought he was joking, but he was serious. He said all his cars are going to be the same condition and also told me the one his mother-in-law is driving is not as clean as the others. -I drove there for the many choices, but was only allowed a 3 test drive maximum. I was the only one on the car lot, he wasn't busy. -Buyer beware, if what he says is true, that all cars are going to be the same. Not worth it, especially if you drive from...
Read moreI was visiting the area from out of state and needed a car, no rentals available anywhere. I started looking around to buy and dropped by here, chatted with Zach for a bit and got a good feeling. Went back a couple days later and bought a Subaru that fit my needs. I haven't had to buy a car in 20 years and was dreading it. There is zero pressure and no rush here. It's the most casual and honest buying experience I've ever had and the process was simple and quick. I appreciate being allowed to take a look at the cars without being followed around. It was like going to a lot on a Sunday but having someone there if you have a question. I drove the Subaru all around the mountains on different terrain for 4 straight days and then drove it half way across the country to get home and it was all good. I feel like I found a gem of a place and am...
