My husband and I drove from Sturgeon after hearing that a new meat market had been opened and was being run by former Jennings staff. Sadly, we were disappointed. The storefront is clean and well-lit and they chose a nice location. The first thing we noticed was few staff members used gloves and nobody using paper on the scales. The young man who handled our order did not use gloves as he handled raw meat. There was another man behind the counter, attempting to use the same scale, who placed containers on the bare scale to weigh them. The young man then proceeded to place (with bare hands) raw meat on the bare scale with no paper and without cleaning the scale after the containers were picked up. He didn’t even stop to wash his hands after handling our order then moving on to handling a different type of raw meat. The opportunities for cross-contamination was shocking as we watched everyone work, and the staff was oblivious. Old fashioned butcher's shop with excellent customer service. Fresh cuts of meat, and you can request specific cuts. The majority of the staff was with Jennings meats, and when Jennings closed retailing, one of the butchers opened Premier Meats. I have been a customer for years. Very happy it opened.
