I recently had the pleasure of visiting Castle Island, and it truly exceeded my expectations in every way possible! Located on a picturesque island, this destination is a true gem that offers a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.

First and foremost, the Fort itself is simply awe-inspiring. As soon as I laid my eyes on it, I was transported to a fairy tale world. The architecture, the history, and the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape were simply mesmerizing.

But Castle Island is not just about the castle/fort itself; there's so much more to see and do. The island is surrounded by pristine beaches with crystal-clear waters.

For the adventurous souls, Castle Island offers a plethora of activities. From hiking trails that lead to breathtaking vistas to water sports such as kayaking and paddleboarding, there's something for everyone. The restaurants on the island are cozy and welcoming, and the friendly locals made my dining experience even more enjoyable.

But what truly sets Castle Island apart is its serene and peaceful ambiance. Away from the hustle and bustle of city life, I found myself completely immersed in the tranquility of the island. The unspoiled natural beauty, created a sense of serenity that I hadn't experienced in a long time.

My favorite place!! I enjoy walking the paths and there's always something to do. You can picnic, bike, jog, go to the playground, swim, and walk the pier, where some fish. Very dog friendly, so bring your 4 legged friend along! It's amazing to see the planes land and take off across the bay. Boats go by often, too. There used to be para-boarding and sailing, but I'm not sure if it's available now. And I love Sullivan's! Great food and treats. All seasons type of place, summer is best. I was so happy when restrictions were lifted from here because I missed it. You can learn about the historical background of the Island which is interesting because there were tours, but because of Covid, restrictions might be enforced. Castle Island is South Boston’s island paradise with gorgeous ocean views in every direction. There is a child safe playground for the kids and a city sponsored sailing club for the teens. The anglers have a well constructed fishing pier to indulge in their favorite sport while kiters have open fields ,buffeted by the ocean breezes, to test flight their latest purchases.
