Land Escapes — Local services in Boulder

I purchase 15 shrubs from Land Escapes last spring, 8 Spirea that they carry all the time and 7 Spirea of a new variety that they just started carrying. About $500 worth of shrubs. I planted all 15 plants, alternating each variety, along a fence to give it a cool look. I rocked and watered all the of them the same and they grew great for the summer. The next spring all of the flowers and shrubs along that fence where great except the "new" variety of Spirea, they where all dead. I called down to the nursery and told the sales lady what had happened and she said that she remembered me and that they no longer carried that variety of Spirea and that they had a no return policy on there plants. If I wanted to come down and buy more that I could. I couldn't believe that this could be true so I wanted to talk to the manager. After talking to Andrea she decided to come out and see for herself. She come out and verified that all 7 shrubs had indeed died. A few had some new growth coming from the roots but the original plants had all died. Andrea said that she would talk to the owner and have her call me. The fallowing week the owner called to inform me that although she was disappointed that the shrubs didn't grow she was unable to replace any of them. I can't believe that a business can come to your house and verify that there product was bad and then still not want to replace them. The only reason I can give this business 2 stars is how nice they where while they where screwing me over. Being a barber and local business owner for 30 years in Helena any business that refuses to stand by there product wont get any...
