Very, very pleased with FCI of Cape Cod. This is a long review with some before pics included of the nasty carpet showing some of the scope of the work. The new flooring is beautiful, excellent, tight fitting installation. I had been getting quotes for replacing about 500+ sq ft of old stain master carpet in our beach house on Cape Cod. Four rooms, hallway and a separate walk-in closet. One small local flooring outfit we asked to bid didn’t even return a quote to us. The others we contacted didn’t “check all boxes” for a complete service. Because of the furniture it was going to require a lot of labor as we could not handle the heavy items ourselves. Beau LaFlamme of FCI Cape Cod came out to offer a quote and details of how they work. Getting together with him was the best move we made with this project. He is detailed, providing insight and an easy person to work with having installed flooring himself, he’s not just the sales mouthpiece. Beau assured us we would receive video / photo updates as this was to be done while we were away from the home. I paid half the cost upfront and once the materials were in a date was scheduled. Laurie is the office contact and was very helpful. Floor Coverings International’s crew worked room by room to move the furniture, removed the 35+ year old carpets, installed the LVP and moved the furniture back into place. It was tight work as a couple of the rooms and hallway were small in the 940 sq ft 1934 beach home. I did received updates & photos during the work and we scheduled a final walk through for the end of the week. The removal and install took only 2 days. We arrived at the home a couple days later to find some quarter round trim was missing, omitted from the work order the installers received. However that trim was included in the final work order Beau and I had agreed on. A day later the trim was quickly installed. FCI cleaned up the interior and exterior of the home very well prior to our arrival. The only issue / caveat was an accidental ceiling hole in one of the old 1934 bedrooms with very a low ceiling height. I discovered this immediately upon our arrival but didn’t panic figuring they would make it right 🤞. During the final walk through pointing out the damage Beau offered an adjustment to the final payment. Enough for us to get the materials for the repair. Beau promised he has a person who will return in the future 🤞 when scheduled is arranged to make the appropriate ceiling repair. This home had a freshly painted interior so it stood out. UPDATE:

Matt and Tim have come through with flying colors! They responded to my review not only online but personally. They came to look at the carpet and listened to my concerns. Matt put a claim in with Mohawk Carpets and kept on it. It took awhile, but Mohawk agreed to replace the carpet! I picked out a few samples this morning and should be ordering soon. Matt was a HUGE help throughout this process! It’s easy for businesses to just write a response to a review online. This company showed they really cared. There’s a lot to be said for that these days!!

INITIAL POST:

We purchased a fairly expensive carpet product (Godfrey Hurst) for two bedrooms in December of 2023. The installation went fine as a whole, but there are serious concerns I have about both the quality of the product and how the installation has held up over the last 14 months. Last summer (2024) I began to notice a darkening of certain areas of the carpet where there is regular traffic (note only two adults live in our house). This darkening makes the areas look dirty. I have had the carpets professionally cleaned twice, but the dark areas return. I have been by told by the cleaning professionals that this a result of the wearing down of the carpet fibers. I am shocked that this happened so quickly, and especially with the price and “purported quality” of the materials. In addition, certain areas of the master bedroom area have begun to lift.
