Interesting customer interaction. Stopped by this antique store while we were up north in Grand Rapids for a vacation. It was a lovely antique mall, with an old coffee shop/speakeasy with a secret tunnel (not in use anymore). I found these beautiful and funny pink candle holders, with these white cupids pretending to hold the candle up (shown in the picture). I bought these candle holders for my new house and thought they were a perfect mix of funny and cute considering they are pink. When I came to the checkout counter, one of the workers grabbed the candle holder and says “Wow these are so beautiful! You must love white cupids, but they should be brown cupids instead!” I was a little shocked by her comment. I am Asian myself, brown skinned, and was honestly taken back by her comment. I do not know what kind of intentions she had, but it felt weird for her to comment on my skin color because of the candle holders I bought. I do not feel any remorse towards her, and I hope there were no ill intentions. Otherwise, lovely store, I would have spent another hour or so looking at stuff if I had more...

(One of the ladies there said there were "spirit orbs" but we didn't see any lol) A LOT of antique stuff and at a pretty good price too, compared to what antiques usually cost. The people who work there are friendly and helpful and the entire store smells like candy and scented soap and it's awesome. Great place for gifts. We bought an antique china teacup and homemade tea for my mom, a cribbage board made out of a deer antler for my dad, and a handful of peppermint sticks for the kids. It's a wonderful place, and I highly...
Read moreI loved the energy and welcoming environment at Annabella's! There are many hidden treasures to find as you browse the various booths. The shop's owner and a few local sellers were on-site and happy to assist me in finding specific things I was hoping to find around the store! Each booth has its own personality and the wares rotate with the seasons, so there's plenty of incentive to keep coming back yearround.
They even made a pot of hot, fresh coffee for me to sip while shopping (and to take on the road after I left). I loved the hospitality and will make it a point to come...
