There was a couple things that we didn't like about the fairh....First, and the main thing that upset me was the animals scenario. This year (2016) was extremely hot and humid with little wind and the "petting zoo" (that you had to pay for) was completely trapped off. They wrapped all the sides with tarps (I suppose so people couldn't get a FREE look at them without paying 👎🏽) so these poor animals didn't have any air circulation going through there! And, it was also right next to the music stage so all that super loud music was playing all day till about 11pm! And then also the pony rides.... Those poor poor pony's!!!!!! Again, it was extremely hot and they had to go around and around and around all day long... But the kicker here was that big severe storm went through the one night and supposedly the canopy that was providing the pony's shade while they walked in a circle, was whisked away by the wind, so now the pony's didn't have ANY shade from the hot and humid direct sun beating down on them! Very upsetting. That's cruelty to animals in my book Second issue, they should of sprayed for mosquitos!!!!!!!!!! OMG we and everyone else was being eaten alive!!!! You couldn't even enjoy your time there (in the early evening till closing time), cuz unless if you were walking the whole time, you were being a blood donor for the vampire mosquitos! Couldn't stand around a talk to anyone, waiting in line for a ride or game was torture I and next to impossible !! Anyways, they could of sprayed!... We do live...
Read moreThe Crow Wing County Fair is always fun! We love seeing all of the animals and the youth art building especially. The historic buildings are also fun. Learning about them and being able to walk through them helps give you a real feeling of the times. Parking gets crowded, so if you are able to go in the morning when it opens I recommend that. It's $3.00 to park close to the fair. Otherwise you can park along the side streets for free. Food and drink are expensive, of course. For a small fry, small, regular cheese curds and a large lemonade it cost me $23.00. Overall, the fair is fun and a tradition for most of us...
Read moreIt was a good County Fair, but i must say that there aren't as many people going, in my opinion, since fleet farm got rid of the T-Shirt booth... honestly that's one of the only reasons I went, before they got rid of it... i liked getting a shirt and wearing it to shreds... the PlayNTrade booth isn't too bad though, actually it's very good, for gamers anyway... food is good too, but i think you should only eat at the hells kitchen booth I think it's called, that's the MN adult and teen challenge booth... proceeds go to...
