Dollar General — Local services in Brandon

I went looking for the Starbucks white chocolate coffee drink. They have them 2 for $5.00! I can usually find the Vanilla coffee drinks but I usually have to look for the White Chocolate. Every time that I have went to this Dollar General I have been able to get exactly what I was looking for. The staff does a good job on getting enough of the products for everyone. I absolutely found the best employee the other day. Her name is Sara. She was so pleasant and a big help looking for some things that I needed. I went in not feeling very good. Her energetic behavior was a breath of fresh air. During these crazy days of dealing with this virus alot of staff really doesn't want to be there working. It was easy to see that she loves her job and loves life. I will return to this store instead of going to one closer to my home just to talk to her for a few moments while she rings up my purchases. Yesterday I tried to buy a bag of ice from this store. Before going in I took a look in the ice box freezer to be sure that the ice hadn’t melted and refrozen into big blocks of ice. I was happily surprised to see that it was fully stocked and in good shape. I went in to purchase a bag. The conversation was, Me: I’d like to buy a bag of ice please. Cashier: we don’t have any ice. Me: y’all must have just gotten a delivery, the box is full. Cashier: no sir we don’t sell ice. Me: ma’am I’m not crazy. I looked before I came in. Cashier: oh so you’ve seen it then? Me: yes ma’am. Cashier: I’m sorry sir we don’t have any ice. Me: if I go outside and take a bag out of the box and leave with it, will I get in trouble? Cashier: sir there is no ice. Me: is this because I’m white? I visited this store on 1/11/21 which was yesterday. Hand sanitizer at the door, but no paper towels to clean the carts with. When I asked the manager about something to clean the sanitizer off the carts with, her reply was the cooperate office had not sent any paper towels to use. I donated a roll of paper towels so that the public may use to clean the carts before use. The employees also were not wearing masks. Come on cooperate, what example are your employees setting? Do your part, put the necessary products in place at the entrance and demand your employees to wear masks when working on duty. We want to...
