My husband learnt about this historical site through our neighbours during the men's coffee session. We made a trip there during the past Saturday and was very pleasantly surprised by this quaint, hiddle gem! Our tour guide gave us a good introduction of the mansion. We visited the mansion with it's many rooms. It was nicely furnished to resemble the era where Rose O'Neill lived there. Outside the mansion, the surrounding was about 17 acres of land where we can walk around to enjoy the greens and Bear Creek. At the museum we saw the time line of Rose O'Neill's life, her various works and a wide display of the kewpies she created. This is definitely a hiddle treasure where you can spend at least a couple of hours visiting. Rose O'Niell was an amazing artist during her time. We also enjoyed chatting with our knowledgable tour guide and the friendly admission lady. We got to learn that they volunteer in this facility out of love for Rose O'Neill! Thank you for the wonderful visit! We enjoyed...

Read moreThis was a nice little museum and house tour about a very creative woman from a family that was a bit eccentric. The original house burned to the ground but a reproduction of the entire house was built in the 1990s. You couldn't tell that it was a rebuilt structure as they did an excellent job. The museum is packed full of art and Kewpie dolls. Many items are fascinating but don't have descriptions of their history - others have text to describe them - all of the stories are really interesting. The tour guides are all volunteers and you can tell they are really dedicated and enjoy the work. The grounds are also beautiful, although you have to watch out for copperhead...
