First of all, this is not a museum. We planned our day to hit this "museum," but it is nothing more than a tourist trap gift shop. It goes downhill from there.
The elderly women running the establishment was abrasive and strangely confrontational . She kept complaining that the television wasn't working. Not like we had any control over her tv. Maybe pay better attention to your customers when your precious television is out of order?
Next, she told us that her credit card machine was down. We were there on vacation, and most of the merchants we visited had notices taped to their door saying that the credit cards were down due to a national outage. We told that to the old lady, hoping to assuage her fears, but all she did was suggest that our card was over limit. The thing is, our card was never declined., including at our fancy hotel.

Read moreVisited here for the first time. We met the owner and the owners daughter, such nice people. They have owned and operated this location since 1940.
Here at the museum you will find endless supplies of souvenir's, Knick knacks also T-SHIRTS with the Vermont logo for a memory of your trip to this area of Vermont.
If you are a collector of small ornaments or knick knacks and trinkets then this is definitely the place for you.
They have a little bit of everything from souvenir's and keepsakes as far as tourist shopping is concerned.
You will find they have their own brand of maple syrup and preserves, also the infamous "Vermont cheese" is available here.
You can find handmade baskets and decorations for your home also.
If you have time stop in and see for yourself what the "Vermont maple museum" is all about.

Read moreI transport adopted pets to the area and have stopped by this shop on every visit. It isn't a museum so the name is a little misleading but I didn't stop by here thinking it was a museum. I've seen in previous reviews that some have complained that the older woman is grumpy but honestly, she's a big reason I keep going back. I have really enjoyed her, her stories, and how helpful she has been with her recommendations. I will continue to swing by on every visit and try out a new cheese until I've run through them all... then...
