I'm pretty upset with Maple Grove Raceway, and Discoverys Street Outlaws NPK. I paid good money for VIP tickets for tonight for my family and I. They started off with not having a VIP line, so you had to stand in line with hundreds of people that didn't buy their tickets in advance. Then after that ClusterF@ck they didn't start the races on time. That was somewhat due to weather. Once they finally started, they started with Small Tire cars which were all local racers. That I wouldn't have paid $20 to see on a normal day, let alone the hundreds I spent for VIP tickets. Small tire car races had a couple accidents. Which delayed things even more. When they finally got to the first Big Tire Street Outlaws race with Ryan Martin and Jeff Lutz, Ryan had wrecked also. So that was more down time. There were only 2 more races after that. I paid Hundreds of dollars on VIP tickets to see less than 10 races go down the track. Which 3/4's of those races were nobody's. No one I cared to see I paid to see the Street Outlaw cast. We then asked if they'd honor today's tickets for tomorrow. Since there was barely any races for tonight. Everything they should've had as far as racing Tonight will now be run tomorrow. But they won't honor the tickets from today. Then the races that did go down the track. You couldn't see them at the starting line in the VIP section. Because they had all of the production crews, and teams crew members all around and in the way on the starting line. The people that paid their hard earned money go completely screwed tonight. I will never again attend a Street Outlaws event, or a event at Maple...
Read moreThe event had a great turnout. The weather was beautiful 😍. The racers were given one time run before eliminations. The Penske side had issues all day with cars spinning right off the starting line during the time trials. Once eliminations started the left lane was greasey just past the starting line. Penske side sign at end of track quit working prior to eliminations. Several red lights came on the tree after both cars left with each one having green lights. You need to fix this issue. The tower and tree didn't mesh together. Another severe issue where we're the Porta potties in the pits? Huge turnout with no Porta potties around the pits. Everyone had to go to main bathrooms. At least it was clean. Trash cans were scarce. Most were upside down. At the gate checking in you were not told what the different classes available to race. Not told you could race more than one if your car qualified for the Geezers class. There has been obvious changes done at Maple Grove. New asphalt, painting and landscaping. You need the Porta potties in the pits. Also, not having the fuel pumps working was a negative. A 5 gallon can of race fuel was $92 .Quite steep in price. Limited food vendors.. Long lines waiting for food. Hope you put food vendors back on the spectator side of the track. For large events. Like Street Outlaws. Locking the main bathroom at night during a multiple day event is crazy. Only 3 Porta potties on racer side of track during Chevy show is wrong. We understand new owners. Please think about people not having adequate Porta potties available to them. Long trek to main bathroom from far end of...
Read moreLots of racing tradition and history here. I grew up. Coming to this track to watch my dad race. Very sentimental. Track is always in great shape. Tech is fair but detailed in inspection, dont cut corners. Make sure your gear and protection is up to date. Stands are newer and in great shape. It was recently taken over by new management and this was my first time there since then. We attended the Street Outlaws No Prep event on saturday. Food was great for the event and the maple grove 'Nitro Cafe' was good and has indoor dining. Everything was great except a few issues, which, some are not the fault of the track. We used Waze and it took us to Maple grove dr and we cut off tons of traffic which was nice. We waited about 45 mins in traffic to get onto the property. There were found that the reason there was so much traffic is there was only 1 entrance open for tens of thousands of fans. We prebought tickets and for some reason we had to wait in the same line as those who had not paid for tickets, kinda defeats the purpose of buying in advance. There, we found out that most fans had waited over 3 hours to get on the property, yikes! Final 2 issues do fall on Maple Grove. The PA system needs an update, big time. Could not understand what was being said. Lots of static and low volume. Looks like the same speakers from 25 years ago. Bathrooms are also very old and in need of...
