So on this past Saturday I realized my work boots had separated from the sole,so for the 3rd time of buying work boots since moving back to this area,I went to the store my father took me as a child, where I remember it being a whole experience getting new shoes...now as a 38 almost 39 yr old man with tattoos,it became a really judgemental experience on the employees part. I watched other Mennonites and amish come to the shoe department and the employees JUMPED to help and greet them,I was there probably 10 mins without a word spoken to me,tried on at least 5 pairs of boots, getting them all myself (which is no real big deal, but when you see others being waited on literally hand and foot,it tends to get under your skin) I ended up needing assistance and the kid who helped me was rude asf, acting like I was an annoyance,I ended up spending $225+ tax on the boots and a total of $289 for again the 3rd time in 3 years that I have dropped over $200 on work boots and was planning on buying one of the $4k crossbows (Cole was AWESOME! And very knowledgeable about archery and actually showed the same respect he was given) and an old man that I got help with about what to put on the boots to help waterproof them,he recommended mink oil which is what I got because I know he has been working there I believe since I was a child,I know he helped me before with workboot purchases. But then the cashier was apparently a MUTE,at least to me that is,I was trying to be personable instead of just like a robot and I always try to make people smile while at work...but of course she wanted ZERO parts in even responding to words spoken to her...then I get home only to read the reviews online and the boots being a 2 star rated work boot for $225,spending 10+ hours a day in and they were already cracked at the arch and all I did was walk around the store with them...I'm going with BRUNT boots,30 day comfort guarantee and they are made in the USA instead of stupid cheap ass CHINA! It honestly SUCKS having to write this review because I have ALWAYS guided fellow Co workers to them solely based off the previous experiences I had since I was prob 5! But to be judged based off having tattoos is NOT very Christian if you ask me...they claim to be "godly people" yet MORE judgemental than I...
Read moreExtremely poor customer service. I have never been more shocked or disappointed in a store. After being a loyal customer for years, they stopped carrying a product I always bought there as it was the only place I could find that carried it. I requested help to find this item, asking if they knew of any other places to get it and when they refused that, what the company name was so I could reach them to find out from what store I could purchase this item. When Glenn refused to give me any information or help, I asked if he could reach the company (since they refused to give me even THE NAME of the company) and find out how I can get this product. Glenn promised to try to find me information, only to let a message a few minutes later repeating that he refuses to give me any information at all. I was extremely disappointed in the lack of caring or service exhibited by the woman from the fabric department (I cannot recall her name) and then by Glenn the manager. The callous condescending attitude and overall lack of caring or helpfulness was shocking to me and is the reason they lost more than one customer today, as I have been sharing about this experience with many friends and family. Very...
Read moreWeaver's is a one-stop department store for Plain (Amish, Mennonites, Brethren) people. It is large and sells almost everything to manage a home and clothe its inhabitants. Some surprises do exist on the shelves - a pair of pink gardening boots in men's size 11 seemed to be looking for a home.
Parking available for motor vehicles and horses and buggies (buggy tie ups on shady side of the building; additional entrance through dining area).
Of special note is the automated mini-donut machine at the dining counter, making plain and cinnamon-sugar flavors as guests each. $1.50/half-dozen or 30 cents each. Bottled water is 30 cents a bottle.
I recommend that non-Plain people dress modestly when...
