A friend had their car worked on here. All they needed was two new tires installed. An employee drove the car to the local gas station and back for some reason, probably to test the tires, but they tried rolling down the window which they didn't know was broke and it caused the motor to finally fail.
They temporarily fixed the issue but within hours the window fell back down permanently. They charged my friend labor for the initial temporary ineffective fix on the window.
I helped my friend call Carl's and offered to eat the cost of the initial window labor, buy the parts ourselves, but hoped they would be willing to spend an hour of one employees time installing the new part. Instead the employee we talked to was condescending and rude, unwilling to budge or offer any help at all.
This was unfortunate to hear because initially they offered to get the tires installed earlier than expected and that was very appreciated. But after they refused to help at all with the window they had messed up and eat just an hour of labor time, I feel compelled to leave this negative review. There is no need to roll down a window for a tire change. Turn on the A/C or heat if it's uncomfortable inside the vehicle for the 30 second drive to the gas station. It seems very foolish to not even try to meet in the middle on what could have been a simple and quick issue to resolve instead of losing a customer who lives in the town your business is located in for life.
But that's their decision and I'm sorry it had to work out this way. Until this issue is resolved I will recommend anyone in the area to take their...
Read moreI’m not one to review super often, but have to share a quick story about this place. My parents are in their 70s and making a weeklong road trip pulling a trailer from Florida to Montana- somewhat nerve-racking for my sister and I. A day or two into their trip they started having issues with their truck and we started praying. We believed God was protecting them by delaying them from weather or maybe an accident on the road (and later found out their truck issues delayed them from hitting some bad tornadoes in the next city!) I prayed God would give them a really great mechanic that would treat them well, quickly diagnose and fix the issue, and not take advantage of them. Enter Carl’s 4x4. I don’t think I’ve ever heard my dad speak SO highly of a mechanic shop (and he’s been in construction for 50 years dealing with LOTS of vehicles). He went on and on about how friendly and wonderful Carl’s employees were, how much he and my mom enjoyed talking to them, and how helpful they were at quickly diagnosing the issue at a more affordable price than expected. I am so thankful there are still good people out there who are gifted at their craft and steward their gifts so well. And how refreshing to visit a mechanic shop when you’re already stressed and anxious, and “enjoy” the experience?! I wish we had more businesses like this- people who clearly love what they do and treat their customers like long time friends. Thank you Carl’s- you were our answered prayer and my dad says his truck is running even better now! Keep doing the awesome work you’re doing!! You’re...
Read moreThe staff, technicians , the people at the front counter and the owner are all fantastic to deal with. Very polite, professional, knowledgeable and answer all your questions. I was there today getting tires, bearings checked and brakes checked on my 5th wheel camper and an airlift system on my truck. I was there about 7 hours because I lived about a hour and 10 minutes away so decided to wait. They continued to ask if I needed anything and even let me use the shop truck to go grab a bite to eat. My total cost was actually cheaper then the estimate. Once again Great people and great service. Would highly recommend as I know I will always continue to get my work done there.
Also check out the Stand Up Museum dedicated to honor all veterans of all wars. Very well done. Beautiful tribute to the Armed...
