My mom brought 6 of her grandkids here to get some ice cream. My son, who is 11, has a peanut allergy and is very aware of it and is cautious. He asked the guy working if a certain kind of ice cream (which happened to be rocky road) had peanuts in it and the worker said no. My older niece stepped in and said wait, no rocky road does too have peanuts. The worker insisted it didn’t have peanuts, theirs 100% did not.. so my son got the rocky road.
He had his twin brother try it first because he was still nervous, but really wanted that one. Sure enough, there’s peanuts in it. So my mom asked the man with long hair if he could get a different one because he told him it didn’t have peanuts in it and he said no because it was his fault for getting it. (Sure he could have picked something else, at this point it’s about how he was made to feel and how they were treated) the guy continued to blame my son yelling at him and told my mom if he wanted something different she would have to buy more. She didn’t want to argue with the guy and just felt bad for my son so she bought another ice cream and they left.
The fact he could have caused harm to my child and then tried to argue about it, was wrong, and then made her buy him a new one when he told him there wasn’t peanuts, is not only poor customer service but out right dangerous. If you’re looking for ice cream, go to...
Read moreThis isn't actually a review of any visit. I spent the first 12 years of my life in Soudan until the unfortunate time when we moved to Amarillo, TX. That was a HUGE shock to my life! I remember when this little store was named "The Club". They had no gas pumps, offered real soda fountain drinks, penny candy, upstairs was the library and the TOPS group met up there once a week. There was a small area toward the back where the men would meet and drink coffee for hours. Pizza was not offered, the grocery options were super limited. As kids we could go in and buy our parents smokes and alcohol without question as long as they had a note on file from our folks giving us permission. We could go in after school and just leave our bikes outside without fear of them being stolen. It's been 43 years since I've lived there and the changes throughout the entire area are wonderful, beautiful, crazy, insane, and mind boggling! This little store is amazing! It was when I was a young girl growing up there and it is today with all of it's updates. I'll probably never make it back in person, but it's pretty neat to be able to check it out online. Keep up the fantastic work you do for my current hometown community. I wish you a very prosperous...
Read moreI had a horrible experience, went to try to get ice cream, and this lady was extremely rude She was snarky the whole time, and when I asked to get a shake she said, can you read we don’t do shakes and malts after 5:00 and ice cream until 5:45 and she comes over and she points to the door where it says it and very small print. so if you guys are ever wondering about getting ice cream, take your money elsewhere and go to the Y store they have really good customer service and they give you a lot more portions anyway! This lady definitely needs to get talked to if she’s gonna treat customers like that not ok at all ! And to be honest I have to give a rating on google for at least one, but I would give...
