After weeks of planning my mother, sister, grandmother and myself were finally able to all get together to go see Pretty Place Chapel. We waited in line for over an hour and when we finally got to the gate at Camp Greenville just after 4pm a guy (camp counselor I'm guessing) approached our car to see who we were checking in. My mother told him that we were there to visit Pretty Place. He told us that we would have to come back due to them checking in campers. We explained that we checked their website event schedule and it stated that the chapel was open to the public from 4 to 10pm. He apologized and stated that we had to leave but could come back at 5:30. Agitated as expected due to us sitting in line for over an hour my mom asked where we could turn around. At that moment a girl (another counselor I'm assuming) walked over and started yelling at us to leave. We pulled up, turned around and as we were leaving another guy told us to stop. As we were asking him what was wrong and why he wanted us to stop that girl comes over and started screaming at us to leave, waving her arms at us in a leaving motion and then screamed for us to get going and get out of there. We left and came back at 5:30 and no one was there so we were able to drive through to get to Pretty Place Chapel. I'm glad that we were able to finally see the Chapel but after our experience with that girl from the camp we will never come back to visit the Chapel. My sister mentioned wanting to get married at Pretty Place Chapel but has since reconsidered. For such a faith based organization they have some extremely rude, disrespectful and unprofessional staff members. After the horrible way we were treated by that girl for no reason, I'd hate to see how she treats...
Read moreI absolutely adore camp Greenville. I've gone two years in a row and I am planning on going for as many years after that as I can until I grow out of it. The staff is absolutely amazing and they are on top of all difficulties wether it be a bug that everyone is afraid of in our cabin, or having a rough time because of another camper, they are always very good at handling every situation thrown at them. I highly recommend the adventure program if you are D3 or above (12 or above) because you get to leave camp and truly experience the difficulty as well as fun of camping, hiking , and various excursions like caving and white water rafting (there are more than just those two). I absolutely recommend this camp to everyone and anyone who likes outdoors...
Read moreWe had a wonderful time at the Family Camp. We had a large group, three generations, and lots of activities for all of us. Be sure to plan your day because not every activity is available every block of program. Accommodations are family bunk houses - very reasonable for a camp setting. The staff were great - warm, welcoming and helpful. I am used to one or two that are having a bad day and we never saw it. All on their game all the time. Food was good tasting and more than adequate in quantity and selection. Not gourmet, but a step above the camp food we have had elsewhere. Bottom line - we are all hoping to go...
