This will be the second time I've revised my review of PATV Powersports and it will be the last time. I've gone back and forth with them over issues I've had with the 2020 Outlander 570 I bought used from them and when I think the issues are fixed, they find new ways to disappoint. This will be long but I want to be clear on exactly what the issues have been.
The full story is I bought the Outlander after being told about it by a salesman, Gavin. I was originally looking at a new wheeler but he told me about this one and it seemed like a good deal. I had questions about it and he told me the engine had been "serviced". I picked it up on 1/27/24 and within a couple of hours of getting it home, the engine was cutting out like it was missing and it was backfiring. I text Gavin, let him know what it was doing, and he suggested changing the plugs. I did, and it fixed the problem but it came back. I also noticed the overflow tank had no coolant in it. Filled it up, and noticed it was leaking coolant from the front cylinder bleed screw.
I posted my original 1 star review and on 2/2/24 I got a text and call from Jon Silcox with PATV wanting to discuss what was wrong with the 4 wheeler. I told him, and also told him that I'd noticed that the valve cover on the rear cylinder was leaking. I don't know who "serviced" it but they apparently missed that glaring detail, and it was quite obvious that it was leaking. Jon offered to come pick it up and look at it. They did, and it was brought back the same day. Said they changed the valve cover gasket and that it ran fine. On 2/9/24 my son took it out and it was cutting out again. I text Jon and let him know. He said it could be fuel related.
I did some research and everything pointed to the fuel pump, so I spent around $200 on a new one and put it in myself. So far, so good and it hasn't been missing or cutting out. I also replaced the bleeder valve gasket and that stopped that, but now it's leaking coolant from the overflow tank. While riding last weekend, there was a clunking noise from the rear end which turned out to be a rear u joint. The rear pinion seal is also leaking. On 3/2/24 I text Jon at 1020am to see what they'd charge to replace the ujoints and pinion seals, he said he'd check with service and find out. It's 459am on 3/3/24 and I'm still waiting on a text back to let me know. Maybe their service department is busy, who knows.
So here are my issues with them after all the back and forth with them over this machine. First, it was made clear that it did NOT have a warranty when I bought it. I was offered an overpriced extended factory warranty, which I declined. Second, I get it that things will break. It's not PATV's fault that ujoints went out, crap is going to break/wear out. What isn't ok is waiting for a call or text back and never hearing from anybody. What isn't ok is being told a machine had been serviced when it's very obvious that it hadn't been. What isn't ok is buying a machine that you've been led to believe is in good condition that has some extremely obvious problems. That valve cover gasket they replaced has a gap in it that'll be leaking again soon and that's one more thing I'll have to replace on my own.
I've had it over a month now, and out of that time I don't have a total of four hours riding time on it because something always needs to be fixed. Should I have checked it better before I bought it? Absolutely, and that's my fault. Jon, to his credit, did at least try to fix a couple of problems, but the coolant leak, valve cover leak, and engine miss are all issues that should have been dealt with before it was ever sold. What isn't my fault is that they don't return texts or calls and that they obviously misrepresented the condition of or work done to a machine prior to selling it.
Lesson learned, PATV. Service after the...
Read moreI would like to share my recent experience purchasing a Bad Boy Rogue mower from PATV & POWERSPORTS, LLC. In March, I began the search for a new mower suitable for my ranch, as I needed something larger and more robust than my current equipment. During my search, I explored several locations across Southeast Texas and the Greater Houston area. It was during this research that I discovered PATV & POWERSPORTS, LLC. Initially, I was familiar with them as an ATV dealer but pleasantly surprised to see they also carried Bad Boy Mowers.
Upon visiting their website, I found it to be professionally designed, clear, and easy to navigate, which set them apart from several other dealer websites I had reviewed during my two-day search. When I noticed a mower that matched my requirements listed on their site, I reached out via email to inquire further about their inventory. After exchanging a couple of emails, I decided to call directly to clarify details about the specific Bad Boy Rogue mower advertised.
My specific interest was in a Bad Boy Rogue mower featuring a 61-inch cut powered by a 38.5 horsepower EFI Kawasaki engine. During my conversation with the sales representative, I was initially informed they had exactly this model in stock. However, upon closer examination of the VIN posted online, I noticed it corresponded to a mower equipped with a slightly less powerful 35 horsepower Kawasaki engine. I promptly informed the salesperson of this discrepancy, who took immediate action to verify the details himself. Shortly thereafter, he courteously acknowledged the mistake and confirmed that the unit available indeed had the 35 horsepower engine.
This moment was noteworthy because it highlighted the professionalism and integrity of the sales staff at PATV & POWERSPORTS, LLC. In today's market, encountering transparency and honesty from sales representatives can sometimes be challenging. I genuinely appreciated this salesperson's forthrightness in admitting the error and providing an immediate solution by ordering the exact mower I wanted.
It was evident during our interactions that while the sales representative was exceptionally knowledgeable about ATVs, there was room for improvement regarding detailed product knowledge of Bad Boy Mowers. This minor issue did not significantly detract from my overall positive experience but did suggest a potential area for additional training or resources to better equip the sales team when assisting customers interested specifically in mower purchases.
Overall, my experience purchasing my new Bad Boy Rogue mower from PATV & POWERSPORTS, LLC was favorable. The professionalism displayed by the sales team, their willingness to address and correct issues promptly, and the pleasant purchasing atmosphere they fostered made the transaction satisfying. I would comfortably recommend PATV & POWERSPORTS, LLC to others considering a similar purchase, especially noting the high level of integrity they demonstrated throughout my buying experience.

Read moreNever will recommend anyone whatsoever to this place. $900 plus for a 2 year service on my boat and they said the check engine light came on because the switch was left in the on position for too long, and it would cycle out. Next weekend I went to put my boat in the water and the Perko battery switch is spinning in place (had no issues with it prior to dropping it off). So obviously I cannot get any power. I go to Jasper Walmart and get the only Perko switch they have and the holes don't line up, but I am able to get in the water. First check engine light clears after running it for a while, and then one of my twin engines goes idle and another check engine light comes on. So I bring it back to them and they said its an oil pressure switch. Fast forward 2 weeks later, they cannot figure out the right Perko switch to order, tell me they never touched the switch, which is a lie because you have to turn it in order to get power. I leave it in the off position when I am not running it. But whatever, I will figure it out myself. $215 later I checkout and go to put my boat on the hitch and my locking pin is completely missing. The women at the counter don't even know what a locking pin is, and finally after getting the manager, the tech said it never was there. I felt like because I am a woman, they were treating me like I know nothing about trailers. I am not dumb when it comes to trailers by any means, and I like my tailgate enough to know I cannot drive without one. So now I am currently waiting on the manager to go buy one so I can leave this place and...
