I went to the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Center to observe a Sunday service for my Cultural Anthropology class. The people there were really helpful in explaining what was going on and why. Afterwards someone answered any questions that I had and were overall very friendly. Afterwards they invited me to stay for lunch, but I couldn't due to prior engagements. Curses! The Vesak ceremony was very well organized and the staff and volunteers are simply amazing. It was a proper ceremony but even a guest or layperson will feel very comfortable.
