Went here for the first time on September 14, 2023 with some family found a lot of good deals here found some good cookbooks and a few General reading books one being a memoir and found several items for gifts for some family members this place is huge two buildings this place must be at least 25,000 square feet at least if not more this place has such a large selection of books and other items you have a chance you're going to find something in here and I need to 95% of the time we found quite a few items and a very good low prices this place must buy from places that are closing out and old inventories or something I don't know how they can afford to give the books that they do there for the price they do but they've been doing it since 1970 apparently so that's a very good sign and all the other little trinkets they find CDs DVDs door decorations wall decorations they got a little of everything in there they have it even online you can order from them online they do have a good staff here very helpful and you can get your exercise walk around this place too I definitely look forward to going back to here in the future and I'm definitely going to check her online stuff out more often because they have good deals good prices you can't beat them you can get books here probably for 90% off that you would pay for it in other places this is a great place for the whole family of all ages they have a great selection of children's books in a different section they have all kinds of books here and you will find something or other items that you can purchase there too you will not be disappointed here we do highly recommend a visit to here and if you can't get here is easy check out their online you'll be very pleased we do highly recommend as I said we were very happy here and will be back and we think that...
Read moreFinally managed to get here, after missing out a couple of times we were in the area. Got here after the JMU open house on a Saturday afternoon. Luckily the fair also happened to host a Virginia author event. Very close to the I64 / I81 merge at Staunton.
Could see right away it's a book lover's (yeah yeah a bibliophile) dream. After we mentioned it's our first time ever, the helpful lady gave us a quick fair tour. Started with the easy scavenger hunt for a $2 coupon. Teen picked up a few titles right away. Hurried to the author event ending at 2 and Mr. Steven Smith was kind enough to sign his Virginia mystery book for the boy.
As the teen waited in the car, went back in to pick some cute gifts - travel puzzles, journals, etc. Great value pricing as you can expect for a discount store and the selection was cool, which was a pleasant surprise. Dunno how they make it work. Would have spent more time exploring the fair if we didn't have to get back to Richmond for a late lunch! Hope to be back with the full crew. Sadly not open Sundays or...
